I have a brand new computer just out of the box, with Windows 10 Home. The security is stopping me from running PhoenixMiner. This is so frustrating.
I had to disable "real-time" protection just to download and unzip the file without it being deleted.
I added Virus & Threat Protection exclusions for both the folder I'm running it from, and for the PhoenixMiner.exe file.
I've added PhonenixMiner to "Allow app through firewall" and it is showing in my list of Allowed apps and features.
I've tried turning off "Virus and Threat Protection" and "Firewall & Network Protection" completely.
When I try to run PhonenixMiner as an Admin, I get the usual warning "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?" I answer "Yes" and then nothing, no window opens, no error message. I can't find anything in the system logs. The graphics card shows in the Device Manager.
I have PhoenixMiner running on 7 other machines and so I'm not new to this, I can't see any difference between the machines except on this new one I'm trying to run 5.6d, and it is Win10 Home instead of Pro.
What am I missing?

Have you verified the checksums match from link on page one?

Are you running it from the .bat file? If you just double click phoenixminer yes, nothing will happen.

Same config file I run on my other machines except I edited a new miner name: -pool ssl://us2.ethermine.org:5555 -wal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.Eve -proto 3 -prate 0.16 -astats 1 -straps 2 -hstats 2 -retrydelay 300 -nvmem 2

No, I have a config file. I'm right clicking the file and selecting "run as administrator".
Same config file I run on my other machines except I edited a new miner name:
-pool ssl://us2.ethermine.org:5555 -wal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.Eve -proto 3 -prate 0.16 -astats 1 -straps 2 -hstats 2 -retrydelay 300 -nvmem 2
If you have downloaded the phoenixminer zip from the link of the first post in this thread, add the phoenixminer folder to the whitelist of your antivirus. right click on phoenixminer.exe, go to properties, compatibility tab, mark the checkbox to run it as administrator. Try updating your windows, I'm running it just fine on 2h20 update. Since I use AMD I don't know which driver version you should be using as I see you using the -nvmem command you're probably on nvidia.

Thanks for the suggestion although marking the checkbox didn't help and I already had the folder white listed. I did finally get it to run, not with the config file but with this simple bat file: ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal MyEthWalletAddress.Eve -proto 3 Perhaps it isn't a firewall or anti-virus problem but instead an issue with my admin access; something I need to do on a brand new computer. ABS Legend Gaming PC - Intel i9 10850K - EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming - G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB DDR4 Getting 107 Mh/s @ 419W out of the box without tweaking it yet.

Glad you made it work, yeah, if the windows was pre-installed better check for user domain restrictions, it can be a hassle but may be better than reinstalling your windows.

When i remember well -gpow sets the powertarget to 70%, not the usage of the gpu.

What's the difference between the miner located at phoenixminer.org and phoenixminer.info?

@PhoenixMiner any thoughts about why a 6900 XT HDMI display wouldn't wake while mining?
My display sometime won't wake up while mining (and it only happens while mining). Sometimes it flickers as if it's syncing, but fails. Sometimes it will eventually succeed but may take minutes (or a blind login - e.g. type password and get to desktop which stops mining via script). Most times, I have to hard reboot the machine.
This is on the 21.5.1 drivers, but has been happening sine 21.3 if I recall correctly.

I got the weirdest issue I can mine etc, zcash perfectly fine on my GPU, I cannot mine ETH ever since the dag increase, this 580 8gb gpu been having issues. it's a chinese brand, so i'm guessing either something is messed with kernel or something, it mined like a champ on eth, never turns off, but now it's giving me so many headaches 2021.05.16:02:02:30.141: main Phoenix Miner 5.6d Windows/msvc - Release build 2021.05.16:02:02:30.141: main Cmd line: -rvram -1 -clNew 0 -mi 10 -clf 2 -lidag 3 -pool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -pool2 ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal 0x008c26f3a2Ca8bdC11e5891e0278c9436B6F5d1E.Rig001 -wal 0x7D6CE0Bb95EB8a1be6983BDf2A0AD81672a7C50e.E4 -cdm 0 -amd -daglim 1 -fanmax 85 -tt 60 2021.05.16:02:02:31.299: main OpenCL driver version: 17.8-BETA 2021.05.16:02:02:31.311: main Available GPUs for mining: 2021.05.16:02:02:31.312: main GPU1: Radeon RX 580 Series (pcie 1), OpenCL 2.0, 8 GB VRAM, 36 CUs 2021.05.16:02:02:31.313: main ADL library initialized 2021.05.16:02:02:32.541: main Eth: the pool list contains 2 pools (2 from command-line) 2021.05.16:02:02:32.541: main Eth: primary pool: ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 2021.05.16:02:02:32.543: main Starting GPU mining 2021.05.16:02:02:32.543: main Matched GPU1 to ADL adapter index 0 (method 1) 2021.05.16:02:02:32.549: main GPU1: AMD driver BETA 2021.05.16:02:02:32.549: main GPU1: Created ADL monitor for adapter 0; overdrive version: 7 (7) 2021.05.16:02:02:32.549: main GPU1: using the blockchain beta driver 2021.05.16:02:02:32.611: hwmc GPU1: set auto fan: 60C target temp (min fan 2120, max fan 4505, fcm 0) 2021.05.16:02:02:32.673: wdog Starting watchdog thread 2021.05.16:02:02:32.887: main Eth: Connecting to ethash pool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 (proto: EthProxy) 2021.05.16:02:02:32.889: main GPU1: 29C 39% 17W GPUs power: 16.6 W 2021.05.16:02:02:32.971: eths Eth: Connected to SSL ethash pool eu1.ethermine.org:5555 (172.65.207.106) 2021.05.16:02:02:33.059: eths Eth: Send: {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"eth_submitLogin","worker":"eth1.0","params":["0x7D6CE0Bb95EB8a1be6983BDf2A0AD81672a7C50e.E4"]}

Hello,
is it possible to mine dogecoin with Phoenixminer? Any guide to set it up correctly?
Thanks =)
Not with Phoenixminer no. It looks like it is possible with GPU but I would be surprised if it is profitable as it can be mined with ASIC. With an Antminer L3+ you can "merge mine" LTC and DOGE at a high profit. (During the crypto winter you could probably buy a used L3+ for the same amount it now mines each day.)
