Can ETH reach BTC value ?

Just wondering if ETH can

not in the nearest future. considering the supply 21million BTC  to 100million ETH and the fact that the price of eth has been and is still based on the price of BTC

That's a posssiblity that can happen in the near future. Just like bitcoin,ethereum has a solid platform that is trusted by many newcomer in the cryptoworld. ICO's are mostly ethereum based which make them widely used by the community and with the high transaction fee of bitcoin many are turning into eth so it's not really impossible that ethereum will reach the price of bitcoin in the long run.Let's us not also forget that ethereum has been very stable in the past few months,with the second highest market cap on the market only shows that their support from the community is rapidly growing.

I am doubtful. Bitcoin the pioneer coin and its famousity is the language understood by 80% of the Non Cryptos globally while having their Investment in it. Bitcoin may be presently value reducing, does not mean Ethereum can just like that surpass it couple with all potentialities it posses. Before this can happen, if at all, shall take Donkey years.

For sure in a few years we will see Ethereum worth of 6000-7000$, but at the same time, the price of Bitcoin will be much bigger. I'm expecting the maximum price of ETH up to 0.5 BTC.

Yes, of course, this can happen. Ethereum deserves a high price like Bitcoin. But it will probably take a long time to achieve all that. Even so but I still believe that one-day Ethereum will achieve a very high value like Bitcoin.

certainly the possibility to follow the volume or even greater remains. but in the near future I think it is difficult to be able to outperform bitcoin because it is now eth still in number two

In my opinion yes the ETH can be valuable like the value of bitcoin but for me if you are thinking that ETH will beat bitcoin it is too far to happen but yet is possible to happen.

ETH and BTC have been competing with each other for a long time, it is hard to make clear forecasts for this, one thing i can say with confidence, the technological part of ETH looks stronger.

No. And here’s two reasons why:

Ethereum’s supply is infinite while Bitcoin’s is limited: right now there are 100 million ethers, and 5 new ethers are created every 15 seconds. This rate is expected to remain constant. Compare that to the 21 million bitcoins that will ever exist.

Bitcoin is a store of value while Ethereum is a medium of exchange: Bitcoin’s main use case is as a store of value. I believe that’s where grandmas are gonna store their savings (when present-day 15-year olds become grandmas, that is). This will generate scarcity, which will keep increasing its price. Ethereum, on the other hand, will be a very important medium of exchange used for running complex organizations and global markets.

I think yes, it can do it. But it that case a long-long time is required I'd say, 3-5 years at least. But it is quite possible.

At this moment ETH is gaining a high value. Its potential is on the process of reaching the top behind bitcoin. A lot of cryptocurrencies prefers ERC 20 technology. More and more investors supports ethereum because it is a fast way of transaction and it also has low fee of transaction. I am hoping that ETH will have a bright future.

I do not think ETH can beat Bitcoin. Current market capitalization of BTC is $ 104 billion and it is more than double the value of ETH. You can see ETH has worked very well in 2018 but its capitalization can not grow too much. I will always believe that Bitcoin is still at No. 1 and ETH forever remain at No. 2 even though they have done well.

I think it is not possible but it will makes time or years to overcome bitcoin. If the ethereum reach the marketing of the bitcoin then it is not possible to reach the bitcoin. Bitcoin has a good investors and there is many investors as well ethereum but in ethereum should be more consistent and more stable to have more investors and can reach bitcoin. Many people are interested in investing in other coins so it may cause in investing in ethereum let us predict that it can be closer to bitcoin. Nothin can say what will happen in the future.

Many people expect that it will happen. ETH will follow BTC but this process I think it will be very long because ETH if compared with its value of BTC are still far below the time. But we will not know what root occurs in future usage. And ETH is a coin that has a group of very high to continue to evolve as BTC.

I Love to Comment this Old thread but Interesting topic! as we see today as all available data is available  I think its hard for Ethereum for now to catch Bitcoin's value But in the near future its a highly possible if the Crypto-Currency was more widely used by the global population lets say about 35% because ethereum platform is a user friendly,faster transaction, lower fees and also Ethereum is continue to Innovate and leading the crypto-space.

I think this or next year Ethereum can fully achieve the value of bitcoin in the current time it is near 6k USD. I saw Ethereum's analogy at this point and bitcoin just over a year ago, when the bitcoin was worth about $ 1k and by the end of its peak year it was $ 20k. I think that Ethereum can achieve this because the community supports it so much and the ICO projects developed on the ERC20 platform will help ETH to grow .

Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different creations. They do not focus on the same market applications or services. Both are way apart in terms of the purpose they were created for. Bitcoin primary goal is to serve as a decentralized currency while Ethereum is meant to provide a platform for dapps and smart contracts.
Bitcoin was primarily build to handle cash transactions and may someday even be recognized as real money, while Ethereum is a complex blockchain based contract mechanism. i think the ETH cannot reach the BTC value.

of course, when viewed from the number of token holders, more eth than btc, many companies are launching ICO with the ethereum platform that makes the number of eth holder more but to surpass the btc price it takes a very long time because the number of holders of both coin is semaking much and supply bitcoin less than ethereum.

All possibilities can happen, if the token performance using ETH platform like EOS then certainly not need to wait 3 years to replace bitcoin, and I'm sure it will happen soon and everyone will choose ETH.
