So what happened to these 16 chip Avalon boards that were supposed to be ready end of Feb?

Anyone heard a word from Barntech on any topic lately?

He has kind of abandoned the community both here and on the drillbit forums for most of the year.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no way the Avalon boards are gonna ROI unless they are like 50 bucks a piece.
It's just outdated technology and the difficulty keeps going up.

Barntech's post from 26Feb at http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=285.15 mentions a 3 week delay.

They might break even at about USD130 (if you have free electricity).

There were 2 firmware updates in 12/2013, the first one on 11/12/2013 and a later one on 17/12/2013.  You may want to reflash the latest one (I know, it's probably a pain, as you need to do it on a PC with the serial comms driver (like the one used for BFGminer), not the USB driver used by cgminer).

Cheers

Something is probably better than nothing. What mining software are you using?  (I stayed with cgminer 3.10.0 for the drillbit8, as my results with bfgminer were not as good).

At 53:2:950 I rarely get some asic timeout messages that eventually disappear.  It runs at about 22.5 GH/sec (reported temp 29-30C).  It has been running like this for long periods of time (cgminer 3.10 on Win7/64).

Cheers

yeah kabopar i used to run at 53:2:950 24Gh/s HE0.3% 32C ambient 35C , now it refuses to running on anything with :950
now best
53:2:850   19.94Gh/s   HE0.88% 24.2C abient27C   this one seems the best less Gh but also less HE

Switched from cgminer3.9 to 3.10 and managed to overclock to 52:2:950 with much less hardware errors and no asic timeouts. Now it averages at 21.5gh/s. Temp is about 36°C.
At 53:2:950 the hardware errors are way over 20%...
