they keep fluctuating between 1.9 - 3.4, they move around alot, think this might be CG miners fault though - not sure, im not over clocking, im running stock.

If you're hitting 3 sometimes on stock, I think we're all in for a treat o'clocked. Instructions for overclocking and adjusting voltage looks very simple from the Drillbit forums.

I got some nice fans ready to go and my mining room is in a freezing room off my detached garage.  Can't wait to warm it up with these puppies.

Are thumbs being sent separately from board orders? Are all coming from AUS or will USA orders come separately?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Read a few pages back and look for Barntech and Bobsag3's posts.

Thumbs shipping first at least for non-US orders is what I gathered.
bobsag3 is handling US shipping and will be testing each unit before shipping.  Lots of people chimed in saying they want bobsag3 to do a reasonable amount of testing of the units before he ships them to us in the US via UPS. Much better to wait 2 days more than to get a bum unit that we'd have to send back to Australia or China. Bobsag3 is based smack dab in the middle of the USA so it should only take a few days to get it from him after he's done with testing.

SO thumbs are coming from Australia at this point? After seeing the "I've got it" posts , I asked bobsaget3 and was told [at least for now] he's only working with the boards.

I'm waiting for barntech to get back to him about how mixed orders are being treated. When I saw 48hrs from him[bobsaget] I thought it meant hes doing the us release of all [boards and thumbs] and barntech handling Australia  and outlying countries nearby but that's not the case I don't think right now.

Bobsag never said he was testing each unit nor is that necessary....at this point I don't think anyone here wants to wait another few days while every board is tested prior to shipping.   I'll settle for an hour or to on a reasonable % and just expect that a few may need to be replaced.  I'd rather risk a few days of not hashing on 1 board than have to wait a few days for an entire orders worth of boards.

At this point we need some reasonable testing and boards in hand.  It would take WAY too much time for every single board to be tested and that time is very valuable at this point (difficulty rise is coming, again!).

plus one.  Not sure why several people think that it is somehow a good idea to have every board tested, having a semi-random sample of boards tested (imho 10 to 20% - although 10% should be sufficient...) is more than enough.  It has good opportunity to weed out a defective board or few and it gives any early warning signs to barntech about how many RMA boards he may be getting (i.e. he could get those boards on order and ready for RMA while boards are still on their way to the customers houses.)

Actually... Yes he did... Though I could definitely live with testing only a sample if it took too long..

At least from me, all boards will then be tested again (Not sure how long... suggestions?)

I think a fairly short period of testing for each piece of equipment should be enough. You can weed out the extremely unlikely DOAs that made it past the fab's QC that way, and any absurd error rates/slow hash speed/other problems can be discovered by the end users and exchanges can be worked out between the unfortunate party and Barntech rather than you and Barntech.

Much as I enjoy getting extensively tested, guaranteed to be good equipment, it doesn't make a lot of sense to delay everyone for the sake of catching a few possible problems.
Im ok with testing every piece of equipment for a short period of time if people are ok knowing its not "brand new" so to speak.

In general, these type of things either work or they don't.  A quick 10 - 15 minute test would be more than sufficient.  Testing for a longer period (say multiple hours) really won't give any better idea of the long term reliability, so I'm all for a quick test of some subset of the batch and then ship them all out.

Waiting two days for testing doesn't make much sense, as that impacts everyone, whereas if I did receive a bad one, then only I would be not hashing for the time it takes for me alone to get a replacement, rather than no one being able to hash while all of them are being tested.

If anyone is interested I created a new team Drillbit on BTC Guild for those of us who mine over there!

Team Name: Drillbit
Team Pin: 0801 (the day the group buy started)

Hope to see some of you over there once you're up and running!

Personally I'm enjoying CEX.io/GHash.io especially since they now have automatic NMC, IXC, DVC merged mining.

I've been just using the NMC to buy GH/s from their hosted trading...

GHash.io doesn't like my RPi's.  They seem to prefer stratum+tcp:// instead of http://  When I mine on GHash.io, I have to mine from my PC.

Either I have mis-read this a few times (wouldn't be the first time I've mis-read something) or that was just confusing, since you have to specify stratum+tcp when using GHash.io; Anyhow... if you're using MinePeon, check out my post here... http://minepeon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=491 and it will help ya.

Made updates on the Drillbit forums; I've got an image of MinePeon created for Drillbit Smiley

Plus I'll supply download links and instructions to those who don't want to image their SD card, but want to get Drillbit devices up and working on MinePeon.
