Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Are the boards getting sent directly to us from China, and if so, any word on tracking numbers for our goodies? Smiley

P.S. I'll try Thor and some of the other gods, just in case they happen to be in charge of our postage. Grin

Hurah my Thumb just arrived.

Sadly however I cannot get ZAdig to see it and when I plug it in their is a slightly audible pop sound.

Any thoughts anyone?

Ok forget that a change of USB port resolved the issue.... OH well ;-)

Yes please do hit up Thor and as many other  gods as you can think of! I think having Ganesh on our side will be a good move for this one.

So no, the boards are going in two packages, one to th U.S. for U.S. orders, one to Australia for everywhere else. As soon as trackings are available i'll send them out.  Smiley

Might as well throw in Aporia the Goddess of Difficulty...  because if there's ANY God we have to appease, it's her.

"Herakles was making his way through a narrow pass. He saw something that looked like an apple lying on the ground and he tried to smash it with his club. After having been struck by the club, the thing swelled up to twice its size. Herakles struck it again with his club, even harder than before, and the thing then expanded to such a size that it blocked Herakles's way. Herakles let go of his club and stood there, amazed. Athena saw him and said, ‘O Herakles, don't be so surprised! This thing that has brought about your confusion is Aporia (Difficulty) and Eris (Strife). If you just leave it alone, it stays small; but if you decide to fight it, then it swells from its small size and grows large.’"

Well, the difficulty going up 12% is a whole lot better than 30%. I guess we are in a slower growth difficulty wise (Knock on wood) due to a bit of saturation, the last big shipment and many HUGE delays with the bigger miners. Great for us.

Looking forward Barntech,

Given the boards are shipping late, and I'l be away when you're saying my board should arrive (I leave this Wednesday), I'm rather disappointed.   Can you hold my express shipping package from this week and send it so that it arrives on Dec 9th?

That's right, a standard ATX PSU (or a variant such as SFX/TFX etc. if you're going for a smaller setup). Get a decent one, at least an Antec Neo Eco, Corsair CX series, Seasonic S12II, FSP Raider at the very least. No generic crap (including any cheap Coolermaster units) that would struggle with 24/7 use and have piss poor efficiency. techpowerup! and SPCR PSU reviews are good for checking efficiency at low loads (jonnyguru starts a bit too high). Look for the unit's efficiency level at ~100W as that's about where your four boards will be sitting at. The Coolermaster V450S/V550S is pretty much perfect for the job, as it'll be up past 90% efficiency (or 92%+ if you live in a 230~240V region).

You'll need 2x 6-pin PCI-e connectors to hook up to the 4-stack miniplane. If your PSU only comes with one, you can use a 2x-molex-to-1x-6-pin adapter.

Then a computer to plug it into of course, whether that be a rpi, laptop, your main desktop PC, or a dedicated desktop PC (eg. white box home server). Again, shoot for efficiency here.

* rpi = negligible, something like a few watts
* laptop = check notebookcheck.net for your lappy's power figures
* desktop = anything Intel from Sandy Bridge onwards, with linux on a USB drive or Windows on a 2.5" SSD or HDD, and a decent PSU, will idle at 20~25W from the wall (regardless of Celeron/Pentium/i3/i5/i7). Same deal with AMD FM2, with even slightly lower idle power draw than Intel. Best to use a low end motherboard with very basic power delivery components, as it'll be a little more efficient at idle than a higher-end board. Anything older such as Core 2 Duo or Athlon II, you'd be looking at more like 60W+ at idle.

Also check the other forum for finer details: http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?board=1.0

I have a couple of questions I haven't found any answers to.  I asked a couple times on the other forum, but never got a response.  Maybe I should have started a new thread to ask.

Do the eight chip Drillbit boards have any provisions for hardware and software temperature monitoring?  What are the safe  operating temp thermal specs on the boards?

On a side note...I am a Linux noob.  Could some one help me out by posting a quick guide on how to build the Drillbit modified cgminer source on a rpi with raspbian wheezy?  I've tried doing it the way I do with the main branch, but haven't had any luck getting it to work.

Thanks!

Chad
