Barntech, would LOVE to see you guys do something with this!!!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355268.0

Price and shipping details? Knowing Avalon you may be disappointed by availability. You would have to make a 16 chip board to have a useful scrypt hash rate, and it would probably be cheaper to buy a video card.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Does the mention of ltc mean it would mine other coins that are around ltc. We'd still need ckOlivias to allow these chips to mine on it or we're still just sha256.

Did anyone on the drillbit team get there to get a sample board? As long as it's drillbit compatible with limited code change for barntechs team that would be fun.

Like the info address for potential tips Wink

claims to do 59.6 KH/s while using 0.44 W that would be good, but first get the current boards sorted.

Yeah, but you gonna need 16chips to mimic say an R9 290 gpu, and I bet a 16 chip board wont be cheap!

No but it would be a lot more energy efficient.

Yeah, but nobody is going to run them in LTC only mode are they, they will run them in mixed mining mode which pulls close to 5watts per chip, a lot less efficient than the current Drillbit boards.

And expandable. There are only so many gpu's per PC you can hook-up.
Whereas external ASIC's can just keep being stacked up on the one host pc

I have plenty of SHA ASICs, I would be running them Scrypt/Litecoin full-time, no need for hybrid, what good does a few extra gigs do me compared to alt coining? no contest.

Same here with three 8-boards. All running great for the past three days. No snap crackle or pop. Grin The only minor issue is that one of them is a brat and only runs at int:53:2:950 (gives 20GH/s) if it is first run at int:48:2:950 (gives ~15GH/s) for a few seconds. I've setup cgwatcher to handle this automatically by running it at 48:2:950 for a few minutes on startup, before restarting the miner and switching to 53:2:950.

My dead board has also been posted back to Barn already, with a replacement to be sent out soon thereafter. Thanks Barn. Smiley

My 8 board has lost USB connection with the Linux box 4 times now, stopping and starting cgminer 3.8.4 doesn't help, I have to reboot the linux box each time.

Others with this problem as well: http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=184.msg1619#msg1619

Reverting to 3.8.1 seems to have fixed it.

Not getting this problem with my boards on Windows 7.

Has anyone got the Sydney postal address for Drillbit?  I've got dead boards ready to send back to them but just now realise I wouldn't have a clue where to send them.

edit: ok, going with the Beaconsfield address on the Drillbit website.

I have seen at least half a dozen reports of people with these USB disconnects on the 8 boards.  Anyone closer to a solution? (no it's not the cable or hub)
