It is really difficult to quit indeed. It's just really connected to your brain stimuli (when you have this addiction). But in 3 weeks it gets better and if you havent smoked for 3 weeks - it's done

You can try nicotine gums or patches. I tried taking pills but it only worked for a while. Now I switched to vaping with a high nicotine content and gradually lowering it down. Not smoking for 2 years now. Smiley

You need to find another way to supply nicotine on your body first. You cannot stop it immediately especially if you're a long time smoker. You can try pills, patches, chewing gums or vaping (they claim this is much safer).
After that you need to address your fixation of inhaling something or that burnt taste that your taste buds is looking for.

When you stop smoking, after a week or so you'll get rid of tar in your lungs. You'll literally spit it out. Your taste buds becomes more active that you'll be like a baby dinosaur because of your big appetite. Smiley

Been there, hope this helps!

You need to realize that you're hurting yourself, which is fine if you want to do it, it's your choice. However, consider the fact that if you have a family, maybe a wife and kids, you are putting them at risk as well.
I've been a smoker for about 4 years when I was younger. My health has improved significantly since I stopped smoking, and looking back I can't understand the reasones behind this harmful habit.
Maybe a good starting point to stop smoking could be writing down pros and cons of smoking, but I'm pretty sure that any smoker already knows that what he's doing is bad.
There is no secret method that will allow you to stop smoking like magic. The only thing you need is willpower.

I tried quitting several times as well but finally just six months back, i quit smoking. It was pretty tough as you gotta find something to really distract yourself. For me, either play tons of games or watch tons or movies/drama and all u need is time and don think too much about taking a puff. Once everything is stable, anytime i feel like smoking, i will just take a puff or a stick off a friend and that is like once or twice a month.

My mom is a smoker before. I have weak lungs so I decided to tell her to stop smoking because to be honest, I can't breathe whenever she does her addiction. She only stopped when I was diagnosed to have tuberculosis. Will you wait for your loved ones to suffer before quitting whatever addiction you currently love?

Mindset. Focus on other activities. Develop a hobby, engage in group activies, read the positive and negative effects. Witness the veterans on this and what happened in their old age.
