If Bitcoin calculates the exchange rate at the moment, when the Bitcoin exchange rate is $ 17000 then that amount is $ 1500000, a very large amount. Make sure the owner is sorry for the loss of Bitcoin information. I found that address on Blockchain, the total transaction is 103 Bitcoin, it would be very wasteful if all of this Bitcoin lost. If you convert to USD then the owner it became a billionaire in 2018.

Not only him many early Bitcoin users have lost their wallet keys and now their funds are dead. The fact is that Early Bitcoin users never thought that Bitcoin will gain that much price ever. some of them have just bought it for FUN purpose and never recognized its potential as a currency or payment mode. You will be amazed to know that only 75-78% of total supply is in circulation rest is either lost or cold stored.

this feels so bad man Sad. It's nothing that someone can do to recover the bitcoin ? did you try to contact everyone specialized into stuff like this ? if that would have happened to me man I would be so sad but I wouldn't lost my faith , who knows maybe in some years the tech will provide a chance for you.

Yep but it wasent all because we never thought it would be worth something in the future it was because we did not really understand the tech at the time as well.

He mined it way back in 2011 so it is not that much valuable and no one is expecting it that it would be that much valuable nowadays. As he cannot find his wallet.dat file then he can just try to earn it again though 103 bitcoin is quite hard if you have small amount to start with but if you are really a good trader and be lucky at times then it would be achievable.

This would remind us to always back up our file and not be complacent when it comes to our funds because we never know what will happen. Furthermore, there may be some coins that don't have that much value nowadays that we are holding bags of but since cryptoworld is in early stages, there is still a higher possibility that it would be much more in the future so better back up all the needed files because we don't want to lose another opportunity.

OP if that the case i think find a way to earn again like that because it's already gone nothing gonna happen and in post also nothing here can help you in the problem. You need only to follow what you do to earn then do it again and save properly your private key first for not repeating the same happening in the btc, another thing it can earn again so don't lose hope and learn from that mistake.

How come it was happened? Unless there's a person knows about his credential. Thus, everyone  be mindful in giving the confidential information. Most especially at the moment, bitcoin really in demand in the market and the value is getting higher.

1 bitcoin now is so suicidal, what more if 103 BTC. What did he do? I think he's wallet and account has been hacked. I wonder where that huge amount of money will do after being frozen.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

this is another sad story that I know and I think there are more people which are lost the bitcoin in the wallet.dat. I think it is because in that year (2009-2012), bitcoin is not yet worth it and people only mining for fun and because of curiosity. maybe they just mining and then after they found bitcoin, they leave the bitcoin in their wallet without thinking that bitcoin will be blow up in the next years. and when they realize in 2012-2015, they try to search their wallet and hope that they still save it to their computer.

I think if he still uses the same computer with his mining before, maybe he can find his bitcoin but the problem is, did he still keep the private key to unlock his wallet or he missed the place he stores his bitcoin.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/up-to-four-million-bitcoins-gone-forever

It says up to 4 million. So that guy who lost his 103 is another statistics. Really just sad though to see someone lost a lot of money because they either don't believed that bitcoin will skyrocketed or they are just plain stupid and not backing up everything and literally throw their money away.

Can you share more about the story though? Is this a new story or an old one because we have seen a lot of people losing their bitcoins. If will be really good if you can give us a link or something.

Wow, up to 4 million dollars worth of Bitcoin is definitely a big amount. Frankly speaking, most of the earlier Bitcoin's miners didn't expected that Bitcoin price is going to accelerate rapidly. If they did - I bet they will take all the precautions to protect their Bitcoins from being lost~

103 bitcoin! man its a big money you've lost. Its very embarrassing, and it is sad to know that it happen. Maybe because bitcoin have no value in year 2011 but now look, you lost a lot money because of losing wallet address. 103 bitcoin now is very big money and you can buy any want you want even a ferrari you can buy in this kind of amount of bitcoin.

The ultimate HODLer, someone who completely lost his coins  Tongue

In all seriousness though that must suck to lose that much money. My question is, does BTC getting locked and being unreachable like this make the value of the circulating supply higher? I would think since we will never have that full 21 million circulating it will make the supply even lower, and therefore the price higher.

Yes, I'm afraid he's lost his coins. But this is important lesson to be learned, in order for Bitcoin to be secure in this manner it's crucial for people to back up their wallet.dat files or private keys. Don't mess around with this sort of technology.
