EOS have a good chances, if their blockchain network will start work with all their promises. And I want to have them all turned out. It is only one real competitor to ETH.

NEO would be the biggest competition to ethereum at this point. It's blockchain is still one that is doing very well with work being done on it to make it bigger and better than before. After ethereum, neo is the next altcoin that I trust the most in the market to make me a lot of profit in the long term when the market ends up bulling again.

Ethereum is doing so well in the market and giving others coins a run for their value. If there were to be any coin that I would regard as a competitor for Ethereum, it should be Litecoin and Monero and Maybe NEO. To me, these are the closest competitors, but they still have to do so much for themselves before we can actively rank them with ethereum.

I think neo and wave are in best position to compete with ethereum. But I think Ethereum will still be the king of smart contract for some years to come

But if we think the ETH team should work hard, because altcoins are now preparing to launch the mainnet, so they can surpass the ETH anytime. With this technology mang become the main thing and support in crypto.

And I think that EOS can compete with Ethereum. Within reason of course. What to wave, still lying on the wallet, don't know where to put it.

I think the main competitor of Ethereum is NEO cryptocurrency. NEO is what people like to call "Chinese Ethereum", and for good reason. First, they are very similar, and expose their own decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts accounts. They are both open source, but while Ethereum is supported by a democratic developer base, NEO has the full support of the Chinese government. This has made it popular both domestically and abroad, as well as for its unique value proposition.

Which are the best competitors to Ethereum, and why do you think so?
(I know on top of my head that Cardano and IOTA try to challenge Ethereum, although they still haven't proved much from my understanding?)
The only real competitor of Ethereum is Bitcoin. There are a lot of talks around about if Ethereum will succeed in conquering of Bitcoin and if Bitcoin will be stay on the position of the second cryptocurrency or disappear at all.

Most probably NEO and EOS are the strongest competitors for ETH. Plus BOSCOIN will be an important competitor as well. They're all good ones. But ethereum's value should stay always good itself.

For that there are a lot of good coins and I do not think I do not have to choose where the best competitor ethereum, because I do not see in the competition that I see is where the best coins I should invest to make a profit.

I don't know much about EOS so can't comment too much on its potential. I'm invested in NEO and hope and expect that it does well in China. Throughout the rest of the world I would expect Codius and XRP to completely dominate. Please see this below for a good comparison to ETH and start at 10:38. Ripple decided to focus on the ILP and improve interoperability in the ecosystem rather than Codius until recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztERyrvyzSY

NEO is a competitor that can compete and defeat Ethereum. NEO has its foundation and ecosystem that supports any tokens that want to grow on its basis. The NEO platform was chosen to develop tokens of multiple projections, and this helped its price rise to compete with Ethereum.

Actually i think there is absolutly no competition for ethereum. They are so many projects who announced a much better cryptocurrency with smart contract plattform. But until now, theres nothing happen. They are just say. How you can see, the most of them cant even launch their blockchain without big troubles. So i would not care about competition fot ethereum in the next five years. They are all far behind them.

EOS is one of the most powerful competitors of ETH. It has good technical indicators and he has large funds in ETH, so its team can affect the price. For this reason, I transferred some of my assets from ETH to EOS.

There are so many competitors of Ethereum in the cryptocurrency space, some of them include Cybermiles, NEO, Cardano EOS, Nexty etc, however the most outstanding one I know recently is the Nexty blockchain which has been able to solve the problem of instant transfer of payment in the blockchain. Check website here: https://nexty.io

for now I see token etherium is down but I am sure for the future everything will return to normal and give big advantage to everyone who hold it, so I think for now no one can match etherium tokens!

I think NEO could be such a competitor, offering rather quick and fast transaction. It is more used in the ICO transactions these day, so we will see how it grows in the future.

At this point, probably the most popular competitor will be EOS. But I think that this project has been greatly overestimated

At the moment I do not see any competition with ETH, as none of the projects have such success and the main thing is the demand like the ETH. In the future, perhaps someone will try to compete with ETH, but we know that the developers of ETH do not see it in place and in a year we will observe the ETH network in a completely different guise, but more on this later ....
