I apologize profusely to those who have been waiting for delivery from BFL, in some cases for over a year, and I realize this may be adding salt to the wound but in the interest of full disclosure they appear to be sending out bulk chip orders on schedule. I received my chips exactly 100 days after paying my deposit. I bought from KnCminer and Metabank at the same time and have received nothing so far from them. Not sure whether this is because it's much simpler to send just chips (Avalon chip buyers might disagree) or because BFL was motivated to collect the balance due on delivery. However this might be a better pre-order model going forward: Collect half upfront and half on delivery...
Again so sorry to be jumping the queue, but don't be too worried. I don't think anyone expected this and it will be awhile before any BFL clone boards are hashing...
Easy to explain, they had nothing to do with the chips except order them and deliver them. Now if when the chips came in they had to do anything with them, then they would be late. They also could have used these chips to satify current orders, but did not. As someone is fond of saying: My $.02

Jonathon at BFL let me change the shipping address to the assembly house in Oregon, so the only picture I have is the box my sample chips came in awhile ago, sorry:

Don't worry, they still messed up. They said they would be clear of their backlog by the time the chips shipped. This might be the post you are thinking of where Josh says they "expect" but can't guarantee the current back order to be cleared by mid September. Definitely "messed up" on the "expect" part... In other news, we have released all the documentation necessary for people to begin creating their own boards to house our chips and we have begun selling our chips in bulk. The first deliveries of our chips are expected in roughly 100 days from the time of order. We still expect the current back order backlog to be cleared by the middle of September or so, although given what we can likely achieve with our production rate, I suspect it may be sooner than that. No guarantees on that either way, though.https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/692-bfl-asic-status-3.html

I get the feeling BFL is having assembly issues and not chip-shortage issues.

We still expect hope & dream the current back order backlog to be cleared by the middle of September or so or any time between then and infinity,
although given what we can likely achieve try as we may with our production rate, I suspect haven't a fucking clue if it may be sooner than that. No guarantees place your bets on that either way, though.

There is no one at BFL who has even the most fleeting acquaintance with either of the terms you mention.

BFL shipped my order a few days ago (12 months after ordering it ), tracking says "Depart USPS Sort Facility" since three days. Is this normal for USPS?

BFL shipped my order a few days ago (12 months after ordering it ), tracking says "Depart USPS Sort Facility" since three days. Is this normal for USPS? Are you located inside or outside the US? For shipping inside, depending on how far from the sort facility you live, it could be on a truck enroute to the sorting facility close to you. If outside, they seem to be sent to Chicago and then no word is heard until they reach their destination. For the most part, USPS dosn't get scans updating their system once a package leaves the country.

Outside (EU). I also read that "CJ" (the prefix of the tracking number) is the lowest priority for shipping... I'm really excited

74 75 198 days of Jalapenos to ship [Updated for Joshs 9/11/13 New Date of April 30th 2013] 152 154 175 299 Days of Little Singles [Updated for Joshs 9/11/13 New Date of April 30th 2013] 178 209 257 404 days of Singles [Updated for Joshs 9/11/13 New Date of April 30th 2013] 280 311430 days of Mini-rig orders. [Updated for Joshs 9/11/13 New Date of April 30th 2013] 684 749 product line days left to ship They are shipping 21 product line days (product line days is the combined amount of days of all products) on average each day. They need 32 35 more days (shipping 7 days a week) to get to the end of April. They have 10 days left until their latest self imposed deadline. guess wild ass guess estimation goal. I am thinking Thanksgiving to clear all product lines to April 30th, then to end of February (just before Monarch) to finish. Timer removed. End time: 2013-09-30+23:59:59UTC Oh and here is the new bullshit update on shipping the balance of the backlog posted last night: "We will have shipped all of the 65nm product before we begin shipping Monarch products."and the bar moves again! This, I assume supersedes the comment made on 9/11/13 that said: "The goal is still to get through ~April orders by the end of September."https://twitter.com/BFL_News
