Hi philosophers,

good work & nice to see an old PoS coin running for a while, if you remove PoW fully +1 for this plan.

Here is how i installed & run the wallet in Debian/Ubuntu by compiling via terminal:

Code:
sudo apt-get install git build-essential qt4-qmake libqt4-dev libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb5.1++-dev libminiupnpc-dev

git clone https://github.com/philosopherstonecoin/philosopherstone.git

cd philosopherstone

qmake

make

./philosopherstone-qt

Edit: if you run in an error at "qmake" try "qmake-qt4" on certain Ubuntu versions (sorry i cannot say why).

Cryptsy has been goofing off with my phs withdrawal for almost two days now. Support's response can be summed up as "cryptos is hard". Undecided

Hello all

I am new to Proof of stake coins and PHS seems to be the way to go, very nice coin.

My question is as follows: I bought a few PHS a while back and they are staking now. I just now bought more coins and i am wondering, if i transfer them into my wallet right now, will this in anyway delay my staking? I doubt it will, but i thought i would ask to make sure, because i read somewhere that someone suggested to only send it 100 or 500 coins at a time into the wallet, is there a reason for that?

Thanks in advance.

You can type "repairwallet" in console when the number of coins isn't right after redownloading blocks.

After halving client update 1.4.1

To see if you are on forked chain please check bottom right for what block you are on (constant syncing icon is also possible)
and compare current block with these sites, should be same or close.

http://phstones.com/mobile.php
http://phs.minar.cc/index.php?page=statistics

If you are on 1.4.0, Grab the new 1.4.1 client and run it, you may get an error, if so then you will need a new sync (see below)
If you are on lower version than 1.4.0 then you will need to follow below regardless.

Warning This new sync can take quite some time!, go grab dinner or lunch, maybe both

Code:
1. Stop current Qt Client or stoned.exe and wait 1 minute to fully close.
2. Back up wallet.dat
     Windows c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/philosopherstone/
     Unix : /home/user/.Philosopherstone
3. Delete all files in your directory above EXCEPT wallet.dat and philosopherstone.conf (if you have one)
4. Unzip 1.4.1 to where you would like and run QT file, and run it
5. You must re-sync which will take 1-12 hours depending on your computer and the network
6. Don't unlock wallet until you seen green check-mark bottom right.
7. When done you are re-synced and on new client!
8. (Check help>about Philosopherstone to verify version 1.4.1)

FYI: Oprhan stakes will restake later and at a higher amount.

Any problems you can PM me or post.

I haven't been able to withdraw my PHS from cryptsy, anyone else still having trouble?

"An Internal Error Has Occurred.

Error: An Internal Error Has Occurred."

Cryptsy did this before( 1 week ago), but then i tried it a few more times and it finally worked. But now it isn't letting me withdraw no matter how many times i try.

Unless you want to use it no, It's not being released anymore since the client can unlock in QT now (see beginning of thread), you can build a new one if you so choose.
(running an older one after upgrading is bad since they use different dbs)

Hi Palmdetroit,

I've updated to 1.4.1 and re-synched, but I'm now missing about 455 PHS that were sitting in stake before I updated. I thought they would have either stayed in stake or else relocated to my regular wallet balance, but they just...disappeared.

Is that an example of orphaned stakes that will reappear later? I can post a screenshot if that helps.

After about 4 hours it was down to 220 blocks to go now it hovers around 500 -1300 to go. It is up to 99.74% and the last block was 3 seconds ago, blocks were 195590.  Also 42% of my stones are missing  Huh

What to do?

Edit: I started the process about 22 hours ago.

Hello, glad you survived the resync.

You are right, Expected behavior under normal circumstances is the amount in stake will stay there for confirmations then return to balance.  If you were on a fork or had an orphan than this will not be calculated into balance (i.e. disappear) when back on the main chain, since according to main chain it never happened.

You can let the wallet run to see if it re-stakes for a bit.

If your worried can also try checkwallet in the debug console (in dusty wallets client may appear to lock up for a bit, just leave it run).

If anyone can confirm with pm or post , would be helpfull, thanks

Hey,

Stop PHS client, wait a minute or two for it to fully close, then restart.

Thanks for the advice. I'm impatient, so I tried checkwallet and found: "mismatched spent coins" : 1, and "amount affected by repair" : 455.12487300.

So, I did a repairwallet, and... it worked. My balance is back to normal, and I think my stakeweight is still preserved.

Yay.

Great, as long as you don't move them they should re-stake for higher amount.
