I have recently seen where bounty hunters were asked to present identifying documents. Am really against kyc because one of the reasons I joined crypto was the anonymity which it provides. But sadly that's gently creeping away.
Now this KYC has come into airdrops. Imagine am to submit my ID to some I don't know which planet he or she or they are from for some pennies worth tokens.
It's terrible and this is a bad precedence these people are setting.
If as a community we do not say no to this, then it would become the norm.
You are right, it absolutely makes no sense and goes against the basic crypto principles. It is one thing for a well known and established exchange to ask for personal data and follow through with KYC but it is ridiculous to send your personal info to some random dudes on the internet. I am not saying they will all have malicious intentions with your info but some might and I am firmly against that.

If airdrop is also used by KYC for verification, i think it will be not good to send our private information or id to the scammers. If the bounty will used that it will be ok, but do a research for their project before taking an action.

For many investors of ICO judge KYC is unuseful for an small investment and a disproportionate overhead with limited benfit.

I think that best option is to avoid participating in airdrops and bounties that require KYC (know your customer). If people start avoiding them then they would be forced not to seek KYC.

In bounty It's logical that join the KYC, but not the same for airdrops because of the private personel informations have to be in secure. Lot of scam airdrops in this area, I don't think that it's worth it.

If the project is promising and satisfies the recommendations, then it is worth to pass KYC. but do not forget that scammers and simply failed projects are still there, so be careful that your data is not captured by third parties.

And I think a good idea for KYC drops and bounty - it is very hard to cut the number of bots-multiaccounters. Let everything be honest

I agree with you bro, KYC should only be done if someone is actually investing a big amount of money and it meant for investors and not for bounty hunters. As if we are selling our identities and data for tokens worth a few cents.

I do not think that giving my documents to unknown people is a good idea, even for a member of the bounty campaign, not to mention airdrops. Here the question is not even in fraud, but in safety. It's just not safe. To track rogues in bounty campaigns, other methods should be used, but not exactly KYC.

Your observations is correct and timely: naturally KYC is meant for investors and not for bounty hunters! Investors KYC is needed because of the funds they are investing especially if the money is above $1000 any amount less should not attract KYC.

That is the reason why you shouldn't give credentials to ico starters and airdrops. Frankly, KYC for airdrops is almost like selling your information for 2 dollars. There are rules and laws in each country when company need to do KYC and i don't think they need kyc for airdrops.

I support your stand on this particular issue because some worthless airdrops make it mandatory for all the airdrop participants to fill KYC form which suppose not to be so. Some of them will give out worthless or valueless token but they will still make KYC because of their worthless token. Its therefore not appropriate to compulsory KYC for airdrop.

Recently, more and more is becoming an airdrops wiht KYC. I also do not like this and I try not to participate in such Airdrops. Recently I wanted to participate in the airdrops of Dfinity, there it was necessary to pay for the KYC $ 9. In the end, I did not participate, there was some mistake with the passage of the KYC.

I am also against distributing my personal data to unknown persons. I choose those companies that do not require documents because I earn money and do not engage in fraud.

To date, there are very few such projects that are not fraudulent and do not require personal data. Of course, if we are talking about airdrops, I generally do not participate in this activity.

I would generally agree with you that KYC is not necessary for an airdrop, especially since I work for a project that has conducted airdrops without KYC already. It's likely that projects that try to conduct KYC for airdrops have either been told they have to do this under the law, or they want to ensure they can contact you later for marketing. Either way, it leaves a bad taste in a user's mouth, and they should avoid conducting KYC for airdrops if they can.

KYC in airdrops? I will not even attempt it. I can do KYC for bounty campaigns but not airdrops. First of all, how much are airdrops going to pay me that I will do the KYC? Most of these airdrops have only appeared to either be shit coins or scam.
