Time to pick up some cheap shares on btct.co Smiley
There have been some crazy bargains across the board today, all things considered. Unfortunately, all my BTC is tied up. Sad

Surely the Belize government, home of ActM, will intervene on Ken's behalf?  Naked aggression by US regulators encroaching upon the rights of Belize corporations will not be tolerated!  Hold, Spartans!

This would be a good time to think of what to do when BF also closes down, because its only a matter of time IMO.

A bitcoin exchange will exist at some point, if BF goes down we can trade shares off exchange. Its possible to register a dividend and ownership addresses similar to what ASICMINER does. But one thing at a time, lets get on BF first.

as I posted on some threads for other assets I own - when choosing a new home, having a plan in event of sudden seizure of the exchange is paramount.  BTCT always had the best plan on this account - if they poofed overnight, the assets holders would be able to (read: have no excuse not to) continue paying dividends, etc. because BTCT emailed out a list of share ownership daily.

It is certainly preferrable that BTCT is shutting down slowly and responsibly, allowing us to make plans, but we should take this into account in looking at bitfunder.  If they do not currently take some of the same measures BTCT did, why not?  Can we pressure them to do so?

Just a quick note on the BTC-TC shutdown.

We will be looking into this problem today, and will post a solution later today.  All investors on BTC-TC should have their bitcoin address set.  Also, I would have a bitfunder account set up if you don't already have one.

I seriously dislike bitfunder (Slow, WeExchange, ...) What's wrong with using havelock? Don't we get another option?

That's probably a conversation for another thread, but I agree.  I hope they speak up on the issue.

This is insanity. I think this has more to do with the Labcoin situation than anything - Burnside is fearing he could get investigated if things go wrong with any of these securities.

You go to sleep and then you wake up to your stock price having tanked.

Asicminer model would be one way, another would be gigamining. The latter having the advantage of being legal (afaik), at the cost of losing anonymity and liquidity.
Anyway, it would be good to think about it before its needed.

Well if anyone wants a positive, putting all the shares on Bitfunder will add more liquidity to the market.

Thats all I can think of right now.

I have already though about that.  AMC already has a Stock Exchange built and is in the testing phase.  If Bitfunder is shutdown also, shares would be transferred to Active Mining Corporation own Stock Exchange.  To avoid problems with the US, the Stock Exchange will block all US IP's and ask during signup if you are a US citizen.

If BF failed and we used that exchange, would it be owned by the shareholder and would we receive the trade fee as a dividend?

I believe your trying to refer to "direct shares".
