I think that the ICOs need to have a reasonable proof that you are not a citizen of the banned countries (for example, the US). So, you sent documents, confirmed that they are yours.

It depends on the responsibility of developers and founders. Some very carefully check every investor and so on. And there are people who do not care, because they have so much to do.

I have been always against kyc for you are compromising your identity online. As others said this kyc thing contradicts the main quality of cryptocurrency which is anonymity. I have been avoiding bounty campaigns which requires kyc because I don't like sharing informations about myself.

You mean the ideology.

I'm also not in favor of KYC for the team database, I think its going to be fair for those exchange to record who are making transactions but for projects doing ICO ain't something a user would want which probably the reason why they send fake IDs. In the coming years,  more users are going to be blackmailed  because of this KYC.

It can only be said that the current Kyc work is still very basic and has not been completely and meticulous. Many projects just did this work, but they did not do a good job of privacy protection. There are still many risks.

I still think the purpose of KYC to buy tokens, whether companies that already get tens of thousands of data others will blame use for other purposes, I hope the data provided is not in use
so is it possible ICO project is made only to take the famous investor data and the date will they sell for their personal needs?
if that's true then the KYC process in my opinion is very harmful

This happens when your data has been given out freely by some ICO's who collected your data maybe for some KYC purposes. But also people do get our info and use it as theirs and at the end our info has been submitted

Yes, you are right that's why we have to be very careful when dealing with the ICO because some fake companies will start collecting data, sharing those data to unknown users which will harm us because sharing those will leads to scam the people.

I believe that people should have the right to remain anonymous if they participate in the ico. This KYC procedure is truly absurd

I just was brought up to speed on groups of people sending in fake/Photoshopped ID's by scanning public records to defeat the KYC process and it seemingly is very easy to do.  It appears that many people sent in fake documentation to the Bob's and Polymath KYC and had no hassles.  How do these companies verify people if all they have to go on is public information?  Did they even really check the ID's or were they simply collected the data?  How rampant do you think this is?  How many of us are complete fools for turning in our documents when others simply faked it.  Now they have our data and the people who faked it are still secure.

NOT FAIR.

Therefore this will explain that KYC is not really helping to make the crypto world safe and will become useless as other people are trying hard just to submit and pass their KYC and the others will not but in this case its look like a waste of time so i'm afraid that if the government will found about this problem then i think they will also find a solution that it will make the KYC to become more difficult froms

I believe that the conduct of the KYC check for participants in the ICO generosity campaign is generally illegal, because we are not investors in ICO projects and can not launder dirty money. Therefore, if the ICO team allows us to commit illegal acts against us, I fully admit the possibility of sending them as their identity and copies of documents of other persons, if this can not be avoided. On this site we work anonymously and this should remain in the future.

That's why I don't believe KYC procedure. I have seen many spammers in a few days to submit a fake profile. Most of spammets stole people's identity, and they submit it for KYC. I think project owners should be more strict or they should use Icosid KYC system. Ivosid is a very good option to prevent fake KYC.

In fact, I believe that quite a large number of people use fake documents in order to undergo the procedure of KYC. I can not blame them for anything, Because they care about their safety.

I don't think of sending the fake ID to fulfill the KYC process. Why? I'm sure that the developer and team have their best systems to sort the document input in KYC. With their system, they may probably know which is authentic and which is fake. Hopefully, there is no person who sends the fake ID.

we can see it for not being fair, but even if they are not being fair, we can do nothing about that, we cant trace those people who try to fake their kyc. its hard to trace them.

KYC documents publicly? I do not understand but the forged documents are accepted not good. The imprisonment information, the real personal information is exposed. This problem is difficult to solve

So many newbie accounts, spreading fake ID for KYC, and apparently abuse campaigns. Btw, is no privacy in Internet

I agree what you say, the company that receives the KYC should be careful to check the incoming identity data, because if it is still like that, it is unfair to the person sending the real data.

This is the normal reaction of a person from crypto world  - trying to hide private data and provide fake. It's okay!  fair or not, it doesn't matter.  The main thing is that if managers are satisfied with this, then it isn't so important for the project, otherwise they would not have passed. take it easy!

1- Managers are not the authorised people to have access to your documents specially KYC.
2- Sending fake documents is not okay and most of the time they will be rejected if the ICO is legit and they're doing the KYC verifications through a third party agency.
3- ICO's are not authorised to take KYC of any citizens unless they have satisfied the business conditions of the government they have registered with.
