Thanks for the reply, I used another wallet on my gaming rig and used the same wallet.dat file from my laptop and it works fine, PoS mines. Seem to be problem with my laptop and the HBN wallets? All my other wallets work fine on my laptop, Mint, TES, GRW to name a few. I am going to try copying the app/data folder from my gaming rig over to my laptop and see if that works.

Thanks for all the help Tranz.  Tongue

Update:

I transferred all app/data to my laptop and the wallet still hangs a bunch. When it is not responding the task manger say 37% CPU usage and 308MB RAM usage.

Wallet works fine on my gaming rig but not on my laptop.

Yes that sounds like the issue I spoke of. You gaming rig has a much better CPU so the issue is not as prevalent. But it would show itself again after a while. In any event, this will soon no longer be an issue.

On my gaming rig it reads 0% CPU usage and 315MB of memory usage, so I think it is a memory issue. My Mint wallet uses 26% CPU, 134MB memory and GRW wallet uses 7% CPU, 178MB memory. I loaded my DGC wallet and it was around 248MB memory usage.

Could be a memory issue, but I do have it running on a Pi right now. Just the headless version, and I don't have a lot of memory left to use for other apps but it does work.

can someone please update the mac wallet once it is closed by the red circle not quitting the wallet it won't come up unless you quit it and restart it

it should have a show/hide when you right click on the wallet icon to bring it up like the rest of the mac wallets.

Thanks

ryan. I will have a look as soon as I can. I think unick was trying to get it compiled for OSX, does anyone have a good set of instructions?

I think adding this line
Code:
dockIconHandler->setMainWindow((QMainWindow*)this);

To bitcoingui.cpp after line 538 should fix this. but I would need someone who can comile and test it. Otherwise I will put this in for 1.4 and see if max can create us another wallet.

Yes I am trying to compile but I'm on OS X mavericks and its a pain to get it to work.

I'm talking with maxpower to see if I can get the correct versions for the dependencies and get this to compile.

as soon as I succeed compiling, I will try your fix for the show/hide button.

I'll keep you posted

Yep, right now it seems like the only way to get a good chunk of HBN is to have bids sitting for periods of time. It is hard to buy into the sell orders right now.

My wallet has orphaned every stake block except 1 in the last 48 hours (15 blocks). I am used to orphans happening when syncing, but it is at all times now . Any ideas on what the problem might be ??

the mac wallet is known to give more orphans than usual... but the stakes still come in though.

are you on the mac wallet ?

The good thing is that more people now hold HBN, witch I think is a good thing !

I wouldn't have dumped that low though... I think this could go up to 1$ each (at least I hope so  Grin)

I think it could as well, but of course that is all just hopes. But when you look at how few sells are in the cryptsy orderbook it becomes clear that this coin could well be on its way there.

Who is raping this coin recently? The hashrate fluctuates between 500 and 1000 Mh/s now!  Fucking multipools? Even more fucking ASICs? Angry

The latest version is 1.3.6 beta, the links are somewhere in this thread and on http://www.hobonickels.info. As for the old checkpoint warning, you could try to reload the blockchain from scratch on your computer or replace it with a backup to speed things up.

I can't say for sure, but it happened in the past, some big stakeholder opened their wallet and it made a huge spike in the diff on the network. check here around week 11 http://hobonickels.info/charts.php

but this looks more like an increase in PoW hashing power, IMO

@ unick
Yes, I do know about difficulty spikes because of PoS, but I was talking only about the PoW hashrate, not the difficulty. And this is not a onetime hashrate increase, but frequent spikes from 500 and up to 1000 Mh of the hashrate.  This could be a multipool behavior, but HBN right now is not even close to the top by profitability. Why would multipools periodically switch to HBN? There's no reason. Also, this hashrate is not present on any of the available HBN pools. Maybe it's an ASIC farm in the setup process?

maybe KNCminer testing and mining these PoS coins before delivering their scrypt asic to customers

they make money on equipments and from mining and staking very smart

by the time all these miners receive their equipment i would expect HBN difficulty to spike above 20 and price should go to 0.001 to make it profitable to mine
