looks like no one really uses that exchange yet, but any exchange is better than none to start with. From their twitter it seems the site only went live within the past few days. However I've listed some blc for sale there just in case. It looks like a good site though, I'm glad it's open source. If we all start using it to trade blakecoin, perhaps we can give openex some credibility.

As humans we have time zones but to computers its all system time and the wallet uses this to set its clock(global time stamp) your wallet or the other nodes are then checked to be only so many minutes out from your system time

why is it used?

its designed as an anti cheat/hack method to stop people from forging time stamps and submitting large chains etc.. (supposed to be only for time advancement but seems to effect negative time zones too)

why does it show more in newer coins?

smaller networks more time difference between nodes

e.g if a guy in South America had a wallet and I was the only node here in the UK then the direct time difference would be larger than if I had 100 nodes between him and me as the time difference between nodes would be less

best thing to do is set your timezone to UTC/GMT on the machine hosting the wallet (true for any coin based on Bitcoin)

In other news I have finished my EU pool and it will be released this weekend had some issues with the pymysql library locking/crashing mysql so have swapped it for cymysql and hope that fixes the issue, need to make some changes to the install script if cymysql is working fine as it was a pain to get it installed in python3

One thing I did not mention for the mining orphans I think this is an issue with negative timestamp received, when other nodes get your block they are checking for a later timestamp than the previous block, a few other things going on as well but it makes sense to have a time window for a machine but for us we want daylight unless we have been up all night programming

same problem with wallet /(i have set UTC time in my rig).
UTC time zone is not the cure, wallet restart is.
That is why i am asking the automatic wallet restart as an implement feature of the wallet

starting a wallet is a schedulers job use the features of the OS  

windows via scheduled tasks and a bat script or linux via cron jobs and a sh script  

pseudo code:

blakecoind stop
wait
blakecoind

then just set a scheduled time to run the script

Icarus/Lancelot is a little more tricky to use than the ztex or CM1. You need a Xilinx platform cable (kosher ones are expensive, but a DIY jobbie only costs a few dollars to build if you've got a parallel port on your PC), a huge software download and some patience to program the devices (either each time on powerup, or permanently via the MCS ROM). I've only just recently added support for the current bitstream to cgminer (its enabled via #define LANCELOT_52, so needs to be compiled in and will not then work with a CM1). I can provide a windows build if anyone is interested.

If it is an icarus farm then I'm very impressed. I'll just pop my tipjar address up BYEE2FvGv4L3yt5aEr8BQ73oWzXMu59Fwz in case he'd like to make a contribution (no need for anything upfront, a few percent of gross would be very agreeable )

I have the lancelot working on my pool with getwork and your python miner works great

As another anecdote, both my 5870s are showing about 2.5 Ghash/s each, while 7970s are a little slower than this, all in contrast to the commonly reported figures. These are with kR105's cgminer, SDK 2.9 and ati-drivers 13.12.

Great to hear from you teknohog your work is awesome, I have had many hours of fun playing with your code in quartus

even when you do have a licence for ISE it is such a pain to use and has many issues during map/par very hard to get consistent results

I have some 5870s but running ati-driver 11.11c will give 13.12 a go when I get some free time

any tips, help, advice, test results, bug reports are always welcome

One 5870 is 900,300 and another is 925,925. The memory speeds don't seem to matter, similarly to sha256, but the other card does not allow very low values.

The 7970s were clocked to something like 1000,1500 but in fact they pretty well match the 2.2 GH/s from the main post - I probably confused them with the 7990 at first.
