Well while bittrex is pretty aggressive in adding coins they weekly delist up to a dozen or so depending on trade volume, this is how they run their business.

I think it a better alternative than exchanges that demand huge ransoms be paid in bitcoin to be listed

I think in upcoming months the whole scene of mining and exchanges are going to evolve and I see the trends now.

I was looking yesterday at the weekly stats for wafflepool and middlecoin and the amounts of scrypt 1024 hash power to make .01 btc a day are really high.  Waffle pool has mention they are looking at an x11 switching pool however soon things will be right back to where the are now.  Soon people are going to have VERY few choices in what they can mine if the only reason they are mining the coin is to exchange it quickly into bitcoin.
If nothing is 'profitable' (using the exchange rate to bitcoin as a metric) to mine I think some people will switch off.

Now enter the Blake 256 family which provides a strong blockchain for security and the ability to merge mine multiple coins.

A true viable alternative system.

I know bluedragon has long term plans for blake coin and I am in discussion for some plans to use Photon in an online site that might be described at this stage as 'gambling style entertainment' but a little more than just dice.....

Since I am in the early stages of discussion I don't want to say too much or promise that this will be built anytime soon or ever since it is still just an idea I am tossing around with some contacts I have on twitter.

Atomic has certainly supported the Blake 256 family and also has a lot of cool features, without demanding the 'votes' in bitcoin to list a market.

Personally I think it is still pretty early and all in the family except Blake Coin are still really new coins.  Photon was only launched in February.

I realize things in the alt coin scene are changing very quickly and most people are quite impatient.

Look how long it took bitcoin to get to where it is now and it was the first.

I am trying to take a patient, level headed approach.  Even if Photon were not part of the merged mining and I was running it all on my own I would want it to be running stable and steady for at several months or a year or so before expanding it's footprint.

A little over a month ago I downloaded the development tools to make android wallets for bitcoin and litecoin with the idea of making the changes to build one for Photon and Blake Coin but then I thought to myself.....ok suppose I complete this , it holds up from a security standpoint (which is an issue for many mobile wallets) then what ?  So what ?  I realized I was probably barking up the wrong tree.

When we have things that the Blake Coin family can actually be used for by 'normal users' , a large online video game where there are thousands of people playing and the money is blake coin--- that would be cool

A casino where you can 'enter' and online play roulette, or other casino games with photon.  Might be cool to 'enter' and gamble a million photon on a bet !!

These are examples of things that will help the development of the Blake 256 family over the long haul.

I welcome intelligent feedback from everyone.

it just feels odd that it's not on atomic.

Check out my coin Photon

The obvious choice is not always the best choice.

Quote
A true viable alternative system.

I have to agree with that 100% after this past week, at least in terms of profitability. Up until then I ran mostly on x11 for the lower heat and power consumption but now most of my hash will be aimed at BLC and the merged mining. The merged mining is the middle ground between scrypt and x11 in terms of both power and heat, for me at least. But then again, you're mining five coins for the price of one  Grin

I wasn't sure about it at first but I thought I'd give it a test run for 7 days and see what happens. That wrapped up this morning and the results are below.

The rig I had on it is running 3X R9 270s that put out a little over 5GH total. Every day at the same time I grabbed my pool stats and figured the coins generated for the previous 24-hour period. Using Atomic & Bittrex only, I calculated how much in BTC would have been made had I been able to sell all coins for that 24-hour period immediately at the highest buy offer. Obviously not ideal but it gave me a pretty accurate earning estimate on the low end...

Day 1: 0.00442272 BTC
Day 2: 0.00313931 BTC
Day 3: 0.00522019 BTC
Day 4: 0.00623353 BTC
Day 5: 0.00583337 BTC
Day 6: 0.00686083 BTC
Day 7: 0.00687211 BTC

Total: 0.03858208 BTC

It certainly doesn't break the bank and if there's something out there that's more profitable without having to hop coin to coin constantly I haven't found it yet  Smiley

check out this guys post with pictures of his mining rig , says he is mining blake 256 so he can just 'lay the cards together'

pretty cool

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7216.msg7176554#msg7176554

i have 15 GPU rigs [the yare for everythign not just BLC] ready to mine this chain as soon as Drago nlets me (if he does Smiley
not sure what kind of speed that will be 15 x 280x ill post pics then too

Is there a multipool for BLAKE256 mining?

The pools are true merge mined e.g you mine all the coins at same time with same hashing power

more coins due to be added to merge so its upto you to convert at current price via one of the exchanges no direct bitcoin payout  Cheesy

Wil there be any in the near future, like wafflepool or clevermining. Multipools mining blake algorithm, but payout in bitcoin?

I'll put in a word on their trollbox later, don't know if it'll help much, I'm not a big user there.

I will chat with him about this when I see him online

Edit:
