You could understand the game if its a strategic one which it couldn't be applied on something that is really that relying purely based on luck.Therefore, the overall i could say a criteria of a good gambler is that you are really that aware on your actions and you do have that kind of limit when it comes to spending your money which is something  that you would really be needing to look up when you do tend to touch up gambling.

I know myself I overcame addiction by realizing that I can control myself. It's a long process to control yourself from over doing gambling and resisting the temptation to play again but it's doable. For someone that just wants to obtain some fun this is probably the most important ability to have as a gambler, I know that when people gamble they do not want to feel constricted by artificial limits they set to themselves, as more than anything they are gambling for that adrenaline rush and excitement that gambling can produce in them.

But while gambling it is easy to lose control of your actions and lose way more money than what you could feel comfortable with, as such it is important to have a very clear limit of how much money we are willing to lose in a single session, and the more we respect this limit the easier it will become to follow it and still get the fun that we are looking for when we gamble.

You equally have a brilliant point listed above, and I agree with you that the definition of a good gambler truly varies from one individual to the other, because just as to the casino, a good gambler is someone who gamblers all his life savings in the casino. So do to the family member, a good gambler is someone who wins big, come home with all the money for merriment. While, To a friend, a good gambler is someone who wins big, takes friends to the club and lavish money on drinks and women.

The problem is, we don't know the exact time to stop each gambling session. sometimes, we are too engrossed in playing to spend hours. If only everyone held the same thought, that the good gambler knew when to stop. what will happen is, there will not be as many gamblers who become gambling addicts. therefore, I do not really agree with this idea.that in fact, it is self-control that really lets the gambler know when it is time to stop the game.

If you think that good gambler never chase profit, means that all gamblers in this world is not good gamblers.
All gamblers are chasing profit, this is why it is called by gambling where gamblers risk their money for more money.
It is bullshit if gamblers are gambling just for fun and entertainment only, if they just want to catch the fun, they should not gamble with real money as they can use demo mode.
I would prefer to say that good gambler is not about what they chase, but more about how the chase it.
