I think you understood wrong about the faucet sites. They are not donating the coins but they are attracting traffic to their site to sell other features by giving this free money. If they stop giving this free money then no one will go to their site and play such a high house edge dice game. Also, people are getting these free coins for the time they spent on the site. We have to also take into account that there are more than 3 million accounts, much of them innactive. And assuming that a little percentage of the active ones use bitcointalk, it does make sense to me that we do not see many winners
