Hey, is there a problem with gridcoin network for last 3 days? Transactions showed up after 1 day, wallet is sometimes syncing, sometimes it's not...
Some mandatory releases have been deployed in order to fix DPOR, please update your wallet. I did, last block stuck on 06/07/2015 04:12:44 But wallet shows up to date.

What's up with this coin? I can't sync my Windows wallet (got the latest version, tried downloading the blocks anew etc) and Cryptopia have been "investigating a possible fork" for days now.

How long does it take for the blockchain to list your RSA after getting the transaction from gridcoin.us faucet (+1700 confirmations)? Its been almost 48 hours... still appearing INVESTOR.
"list cpids" shows my projects correctly.
Thanks for the help.

you need to get a normal (interest) stake before the blockchain lists your RSA and you can earn Proof of Research coins.
But this defentiely happens within 14 days and the RAC lookback is 14 days, so none of your research done in that timeframe is lost.

As I understand it, RAC lookback is 14 days. I think a bunch of people have not generated coins from research since July 2 (3?), but I'm not quite sure who is running OK now and who still has issues. I have no research coins since July 2, although interest coins have started coming in since the latest update.
I run BOINC 24/7 and before July 2 would see some research coins most days. Since then, my magnitude always shows as zero on the wallet display. My status was inexplicably showing as INVESTOR the last couple of days but now is blank. Edit: it changed from blank to INVESTOR after a while. Edit again: This is crazy-making but now it has changed again to "all BOINC projects exhausted". Third edit: Now it is blank again. I hope you like drama.
I look at the NN display from time to time and have never seen my CPID, which is 4a9ffedef129ec46b851c9f7cc117b3e according to BOINCStats.
Right now, the NN shows a few dozen entries, all with mag zero. The first dozen or so show total RAC values that seem reasonable at a casual glance, but the last few dozen all show zero.
Edit: This has been fixed in the latest release - changes come rapidly, so if you have issues be sure you are running the latest version.
I get frequent messages from BAM that the BOINC client has exited, but only when the GRC wallet is running. If I shut down GRC, then BAM runs indefinitely. With the wallet running, BAM needs constant restarts - this has been true for a very long time, many months, but I think it is much more frequent since July 2/3. It may or may not be related to the other issues. Edit: Update - I am trying a new approach now. Since my GRC wallet always knocks out BAM, my habit has been to shut GRC down fairly quickly so I can keep BAM running. Now I will try leaving BAM off (not running BOINC at all for a while), to see whether the GRC wallet just needs more run time to catch up.
Anyway - something is still wrong, I think, and I am wondering if the RAC lookback is going to cause permanently-lost GRC research coins for some of us in another day or so.
Edit: Last update (I hope) - be sure you use the latest version. Things are looking much better now (July 17). Possibly not quite right yet, but much better.

Gridcoin is driven by only one buggy developer. It seems not to be truly decentralized cryptocurrency now. Several of buggy releases and several of blockchain snapshots are published in last few weeks. Developer is just asking people to remove his coin on Poloniex just because they do not compile his new released code fast enough. (He did not even care about security reviews of his code). Developer is also trying to move some coin from foundation wallet to his friend. I do not think Gridcoin is secure currency to invest now.

Gridcoin is entirely decentralized, including our voting system and our ticket system. (Kaaz1: FAIL) Bugs happen, and I apologize for that. I could not predict a NULL block pointer over the last 14 days - and its fixed. And, it was released as an emergency to keep us from forking. Poloniex emails me personally, and they are happy to keep Gridcoin. (Another Fail) your information is FUD. I spoke to Tristan TODAY. The Foundation balance is entirely intact with a 40 character password, and no GRC is going anywhere without a PR vote. Next, I will report you to the mods, and you can go back into your basement my scared friend as Im sure you are hiding behind your computer. Also - a side note - I banned you on CryptoCoinTalk, and there will be a good chance you will be banned here because you are a detraction to the community and you are defacing our forums. Best Regards, Rob H. PS - I have a good reputation for being honest and never misleading. If anyone thinks that is not the case - please feel free to post. Im all about transparency. If we ever had a threat that the foundation coins would be better off with the community, feel free to vote on releasing them and I will be glad to disperse the entire amount back to all the CPIDs/Investors by shares.

Dear Honest developer. Decentralized by posting entire snapshots and asking all community to download several times in a week? if you are all transparency, why did you deleted your own post at CCTalk about Poloniex and Foundation coin ? --- Edited ---- Your deleted post about Poloniex and Foundation coin has recovered by some good guy. ** I just added a new Poll to Stay listed on Poloniex - a poll to refund the bad deposit loss (from the foundation) that Poloniex took during last weeks forking when the subsidies were high and we had 3 successive mandatories/forks **
I think we should do it - Tristan gave me the txids, and we made enough in interest on the foundation node in the last 20 days to cover it. Its a bona fide loss as she bought back the GRC on ccex the other night in order to cover her withdrawals.

In Testnet we are currently testing a feature called Research Age. This allows EVERYONE to get paid eventually for his/her research activity. Unlike Bitcoin, you do not need a high sophisticated mining hardware or a high balance in other POS currencies to stake your block.
It will be only a matter of time that you get your fair share of what you have mined (= researched in BOINC).
Dont get me wrong, right now you will also be fully paid on your research activity. But with many many more researchers/miners in the future we will need the Research Age feature because of the limited block number per day.
