Yes hardwallet wallet is the best for me to keep safe and protect our altcoins. Just like Im using nano ledger wallet for long now so it is safe and secured wallet. As most said always save the private keys and other necessary details.

Always keep your private key and saved it to a secured flashdrive or even in your desktop. Don't share it to anyone because this serves as your password to your wallet. Don't open your wallet anywhere, for me I open it only at my house to avoid to the hackers. If you have time, installed metamask bacause it is a great help to secured your wallet.

If your alts are ERC based, then you should have your private keys stored properly, preferably hardware wallet if you aint gonna trade that often, always double check the web url when trying to access MEW using private as theres really the choke point where a simple mistake would costs you, previously I seen some phishing links even get through the adsense as promoted search results.
