Well, as it has already been noted by several other contributors, I will also add this that it's highly important to watch the kind of airdrops and some other crypto affiliated programs you will join to providing your personal details which some times are being required for by some of these scammers. Be careful and properly guided.
Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

You should use a paper wallet and keep it somewhere safe. Learn how to make a paper wallet by Googling. There are lots of articles available. It is never safe to store large amount of your crypto portfolio in an exchange. In fact, you should not store at any in sites which doesn't give you the control of the private key of your wallet.

I probably will make a paper wallet for most of these for security. Some choices you can choose from: Trezor or ledger S. Smiley

Use different passwords for every account you use to limit any damage that can be done by hackers. Use a unique email when opening accounts on each exchange and only use that email address for that specific exchange.
Enable two-factor authentication for your exchange accounts. This adds a software to your smartphone which adds extra security to your account. Without two-factor authentication, a hacker only needs your username and password to empty your balance.
Maintain backups of your cryptocurrency wallets and recovery phrases to ensure your coins aren’t lost for good if something happens to your main device. External hard drives, USB sticks, and encrypted backup files can be used to secure your recovery options and programs like VeraCrypt can encrypt these sensitive files.

Store them offline, plenty of different hardware wallet options. Obviously not worth it if it's just a small amount though.

if I think we should use our hardwallet very well, because when it comes from storing large sums of money the cryptocurrency we already have will be well protected, but if for coins that will be threatened to collapse before I invest. both are perfect for storing coins both in the short and long term.

If you can afford a hardware wallet like Nano ledger then it is a best option to store your altcoins but if you can't then you should store your coins on different wallet and secure your private keys and also the computer or gadget you used to store your private keys.

sorry to say this but once something is placed on the internet , its no more safe and can be hacked anytime. Just play safe. However you can take some precautions to lower the risk of this . Avoid suspicious links, mails that is promising you heaven and earth. Websites that does not consist https and padlocks symbols. If you follow these and take your security serious . I hope you would be safe

Bookmark every official site, install metamask or EtherAddressLookup. Don't click any suspicous link in your mail, if you have money just buy TREZOR, and put your private key in safe place or just print it

Stop clicking suspicious links and pop ups, check if the website is secure and always check anything you're going to download.

All of the above is true, it's quite easy to protect yourself. And no antivirus or program will protect you as much as you do. The main thing is to be very careful and not to hurry.
The best thing to save our bitcoin and altcoin from hacking is to store it on hardwallet. Or we keep the private key in a safe place.
Much better if we do not keep our coins in the exchanger because it is very vulnerable and we always hear the news about hacking on the exchanger.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?

The best way is you save your private key and pasword in a very very safe place and make sure that no one can fond it. I suggest also that you put an extra copy for that private key so that if just in case that you lose that key you still have extra more key.

The best protection of coins at the moment is in the presence of your "cold wallet". Because it is not constantly connected to your computer or laptop and the password is entered mechanically on the wallet personally by you. And of course a password only you should know. And so all online wallets I think are unreliable, as hackers spend months on a selection of all possible password options to one moment to steal your coins. With a cold wallet, these chances are reduced to almost a minimum. And even less tell your friends and old friends, what and how much invested.

The best way to protect yourself from hackers is to use a hardware wallet. You can also keep on the stock Exchange. A good option is also to split your amount and keep on multiple wallets.

First you need to ensure the security of your computer, for this you must install antivirus software and configure the firewall. All your private keys need to be stored in encrypted form on the computer or separately from the computer, for example on a flash drive. It is even safer to store private keys on a piece of paper, but this is not always the case.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
I will recommend you to have used the off-line wallets. Because it is easy to use and secure the coins for the long term. I think these wallets are the good MEW, TREZOR

Maybe I will repeat myself. But the best way to protect your tokens its holding cryptocurrency on the Trezor or Ledger wallets. And securely save your backup keys
