I think you should do all safe things to prevent your coin from harm. Like using strong altcoin wallet to receive your coins and also add a strong password that nobody can decrypt so that no hacker can decode, using a good antivirus software to protect your computer against malware and virus that are designed to steal your crypto currencies, so on. There are many scammers and hackers around now so it is important to be extra careful when trading.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
The  best way to protect your altcoin is to keep it in a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano or  Trezor. Make sure to keep your private key and keep it off on internet so the hacker have no access on your private key or password.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
If you are using MyEtherWallet.com ( MEW ). I advise you to read their safety tips. You can check it out when you visit the site. You can protect your funds by keeping your private key because that was the key to access your MEW. Which is very important, so don't gave it to others and also don't loss it. Why ? if you loss your MEW private key, means that you can no longer access to your account and it was time to say good bye to your altcoins. So be careful.

We want to keep our Altcoin safety, we don't let others know or we must keep our private key and password in a safety place so that it will not hacks from others.

Yes, this is so true. I have several friends who got hacked because of this stupid action. They save the private key in local notepad PC.
That's was very dangerous, because if the PC attacked by malware, the hacker can know the private key file.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
You can make sure your altcoin is safe and well-secured by finding a good wallet. Try finding the one that many has tested and has been proved to be trustworthy. You cannot be careless on choosing which storage you are going to keep your altcoin or else it will cost you a lot of money to be loss. Be smart and wise and finding one and stick on what you think is the best.

I have been using MyEtherWallet's wallet, and there is no security problem for the time being. I clean up the Internet cookie every day and regularly backup my private key. In fact, it's not easy for hackers to invade your wallet.

Depending on the type of Altcoin you are holding,  you should endeavour and see to it that you are in charge of your coin at all times.  Download the wallet of your various Altcoin and keep your coin in a wallet where you have your private keys and never share your private keys with anyone.

To keep always safe of your altcoins is to maintain hardware wallet or you can print the paper wallet. But never keep your private keys in any of the drives say; google drive or Microsoft drive or any kind. But, if you have in the exchanges never reveal your password with anyone and always use 2-factor authentication like G-Authenticator. This way you can save from both exchanges and your private wallet.

I think security is the first option we should do to secure the coins we have, here I suggest to use the wallet more safely, because the wallet keeps our coins and personal coins and it is easy to use and it is harmless.

Just simply take care of your wallets and be responsible for your private keys because once you lost it, you will surely lose your altcoins. Do not log in to different websites and just book mark the original one.

Although in the case of a burglary of the exchange you can hardly do something, it is quite realistic to take some steps to avoid losing money through your own fault. For example, when making transactions with crypto currency, use only a computer with an updated antivirus and a firewall. Every time, check to see if the security system of your computer is updated. In order to hack a computer, only one vulnerability is enough. You also need to think about installing an operating system with a very high degree of protection, for example, Qubes, Unix or Linux. These are the most secure operating systems in the world. They are more difficult to crack and their configurations make them less vulnerable.

The best way to protect coins are using hardware wallets. Those are invulnerable to hackers. They are just impossible to hack. The only way for those coins in hardware wallet to get lost is through someone stealling the physical wallet. And probability is low if you took care of it.

The only way to protect your altcoins from any hacker attacks is hold your altcoin in any hardware wallet and there are many options of hardware wallets available in the market and you can choose as per your requirement and transfer your coins in that wallet

If you’re a holder and decided to wait for a long term, getting a hardware wallet is the best option probably. I think it’s the most efficient way to protect your eth based altcoins..

Clear all the history on your computer every week or so. This will higher your chances that you aren't getting phished or key logged. I would also invest in anti-virus as well as hardware wallets that disconnect your private keys from your computer. Having all these things should be ample for security
