If you don't trust others, you don't trust yourself.  If you trust others, you can trust yourself and believe things will work out, and they will.  To trust is to stop dividing, to understand and uplift one another.

Hey there everyone ,being a newbie and restricted to the newbie forum I'm a little unsure of where to post but using this thread seems appropriate.I was worried when first purchasing my Btc but found a member here and I should imagine familiar to some of the regulars Mick who is behind http://mjbmonetarymetals.co.uk/

Well after reading feedback about his site I took the plunge and ordered my btc,not only did I receive my btc as promised in a speedy manner but as im new to this he was generous enough to give simple walk throughs and advice on what to do.I cant recommend this guy enough for newbies like myself completely trustworthy and genuine trader.  Mick ,thanks for all your help and as I said you'll be getting plenty more business from myself ,you're a true gent.

I don't trust any online wallets but I have to deal with them for now until the official Bitcoin client finishes syncing. Thank the net it's finally at 98%.

"Online wallet" always struck me as synonymous with "give away your coins." If it's not in your physical possession, which in cryptocurrencies means if your wallet data isn't stored locally on a secured medium, you don't own it.

I sure don't know enough about all this yet. But if everything is going to remain untraceable I don't know how will it ever get to be secure with all the crooks in this world. I just did a transfer and it's taking an hour just to show up in the next account. Not the greatest feeling knowing all I can do is hope for the best.

the topic is pretty near to my principles

Trust has to be earned - in business you often do not have the time of trustmanagement with consumers.
That's another reason for promoting Bitcoin as there can be avoided to trust the juridical widely protected consumers.
Also central authorities are not to be trusted as most of the time they cannot be held truly and directly responsible like you could a natural person.

I prefer to keep most of my BTC in an encrypted wallet on my computer, and keep a small amount in an online wallet just for the convenience.  That way if the online wallet service gets compromised I only lose a few BTC.

I have been trusted when the person really didn't know me yet.  I feel if I can get to know someone a little and use my instinct then I would give them trust also.

On passwords, another alternative for me has been to use lyrics from obscure songs I know (ie. not pop, and not released the last 20 years!), with capitalization/punctuation (and avoiding the chorus) that usually takes me past 25 words long. Sometimes I'll add the year at the end just for some numbers (not sure if that matters though at this length). I figure it will never be bruteforced or guessed.
