The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

yup being paranoid is the way to protect ur BTC .. I already got a Trojan.gen in my system trying to smuggle my wallet I suppose but always getting stopped by my virus scanner ..

I understand what you're saying and I agree mostly, but I've had some coins disappear back during the whole MyBitcoin fiasco and it just left a bad taste. I try and keep them all offline and encourage others aswell.

If you don't trust anynone, well.. you will never do any bitcoin transacion, because of fear of getting scam..
That's why we use escrow service and so on.. All these little tricks help us to going on even if you don't trust your vendor..

Good advice, paranoia is good, keeps you on your toes, TRUST IN BITCOIN and no one else, well... Maybe someone else but just be careful people, obviously.
