Seriously what can we do to counter zombies ? captcha or time access delay at client level?
Frankly saying I hope they'll stay alive for the time being. They create a good environment for testing of new countermeasures.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the
first distributed timestamping system.

What value is everyone using for their deadline timeout?
I can't register "Come-from-Beyond" so I won't take part in this show. But I would use 2 min if I had not much coins and 1440 for transactions with 100k fee. i thought it was the reverse.. if you choose a big fee, the transaction will be processed first, so you only need a little deadline ? I advise to use 2 min deadline coz if u see that most of transactions at ~100 NXT level then in 2 mins u can send another transaction with 150 NXT. how can you see this? Just by not receiving the confirmation or something

All AS transactions will be listed in [Unconfirmed transactions] in NRS. Their amount will be 0, u should look at fee column.

U can use 1 NXT fee. Higher fee - higher chance to grab it.

You can use whatever fee you'd like. If someone else tries to register the same alias at the same time, then the higher fee transaction will get the alias.

Nxt could reach dollar parity sooner than most could imagine. Just saying that so people don't get too crazy spending money on the alias arm race

Those who will take more than 1000 Nxt to get alias name will definitely lose a lot!

If anyone has more than 1 node, please, restart half of them. Let me know if any nodes crash during the show.

You can use whatever fee you'd like. If someone else tries to register the same alias at the same time, then the higher fee transaction will get the alias. and its not just that... the account that will build the next block just chooses highest fees from ALL possible candidate transactions, regardless of whether or not its a request for a NXT transfer or a request to assign an alias. So just because you are the ONLY person to request an alias name, if you set too low a fee and too low a deadline, your request may expire before it is selected to be built into a block

Okay, maybe I'm not understanding quite yet..
I have my wallet, I've unlocked it, whenever I open the client obviously I have to unlock it. But at what point am I "forging" or able to potentially collect fees for TX?
I have read simply unlocking it, then closing the browser is fine - but how is that exactly the case? I've looked over a couple threads several times but somehow the English is simply sliding by me..
IE When my computer is off? Or once I've run the client once per computer power on session..? Etc.. Is there a way to "know" I'm forging?

yes this is why NXT's implementation of PoS is so cool. Instead of buying $$$ hardware that becomes obsolete and depreciates, you buy NXT and that is what "mines" (or we call it forging) for you. NXT doesnt get old and it doesnt depreciate. Much easier on mother earth

I noticed that the difference between "numberOfBlocks" and current block height is usually 1, but it may increase as time fly. it seems that the current block height is more stable. I decide to start my assigning script twice when block_height=21999 and 22000
