Could someone teach me how to check signature/hash. Someone said a couple of days ago that he can't confirm hash with 0.5.10 so I though it's better to learn before the next update.

I guess you are on windows?
you can use hashtab, which get's integrated in your fileexplorer.
easy and handy.

Hashtab is indeed an easy downloadable solution but not all that obvious how to use it once you've got it.

I recommend checking SHA-256 of a file you've downloaded by uploading back online here:

http://hash.online-convert.com/sha256-generator

This is a REALLY GOOD original original post "(teach me") and we should consolidate and repeat these answers over and over and over at every client download site for every new NXT user.

Here's a great post from gutshot5820 in the Ehereum thread

Lets put the fundraiser in simple terms that everyone can understand.  Everyone should agree agree that all investments should have a proper risk/reward ratio. This project itself has a lot of risk and potentially a lot of reward, so neither can outweigh the other.  Now lets look at this objectively from that perspective.

Ethereum project;
Risk = Very High
Reward = Very High

Founders;
Risk = 0%
Reward=100%

Early adopters;
Risk = 100%
Reward = ?

Put that on a graph.  Does that seem like a fair transaction to you?

If Ethereum fail, the dev will still sit on thousands of BTC. It doesn't feel quite right to me.

On the other hand, if NXT failed, BCnext would have got 21 btc, not even enough to pay for his dev time.
The risk/reward was and is a lot more fair in NXT than in any other project like Ethereum or Emunie.

On top of that, Nxt's development is much transparent. You can ask any tough questions on this tread and several other threads regarding the technical issues and doubts and you get answers. I have not seen other projects with this kind openness and confidence yet.

Oh boy... I hope you guys don't sort by Volume... No Sweat here!   Grin

Doge is where old GPUs go to die when they are no longer profitable for mining Bitcoin.  Really, Doge is totally unsustainable, it is an attempt to reset the clock to a more profitable period on the Bitcoin growth curve, plus some smart advertising.

Or when they are not rendering video games  Grin

DOGE may not be valued at much more than the electricity needed to solve for them, and the dogechain is very overweight. But it's still a great educational tool and brings people together.

Any UK Nxt holders? We need to position ourselves to get on Bittylicious to increase liquidity. The ability to purchase Nxt without Bitcoin is a big deal and one we should put some energy towards.

My KYC/registration with Bittylicious is pretty much complete, I can see they have about 4 Alt's on there already.
I don't know if anyone else has contacted them - I've emailed them to see if they will let me sell NXT.

Thank you for doing this.  The more I've thought about doing this from the US with my UK Barclays acocount, the more uncomfortable I feel about it.  If I processed more than $10,000 at once, I would have to refile my Foreign Bank Account Report (FBAR, Form TD F 90-22.1).  I had to file it once because I had to have more than $10K to open the Barclays account, and pulled most of that back once it was opened so I wouldn't have to file it annually.

I just want to play poker for small stakes and be left alone, not juggle stuff all year to keep from being suspected of being a money launderer.

Regarding Mixing Service. Do we need such on-chain service that mixes coins with anonymity-reliability trade-off? 30% anonymity means 70% reliability to get all the coins back. Yes, it means that with 100% anonymity u could get 0% - 200% coins back.

Has the trade of of a mixing service for mainstream adoption with respect to compliance been discussed? See this http://www.totalwebcasting.com/view/?id=nysdfs very interesting hearing. Go to Panel 3 Day 2 - The Academic View on Virtual Currencies  Minute: 51:30

Have mixing services been discussed with respect to possible needs for compliance? Compliance could be a crucial future distinguishing factor for crypto currencies! Watch the panel discussion...

Installation
Simply unzip the archive and run the NXTSolaris.exe file.

The current version 1.5 and previous version 1.4 is not compatible with version 1.3 and before, so please delete any existing NXT Solaris files before updating to 1.5.

Roadmap
1.) Move current version of my code to XE5 and release closed source 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Windows. [DONE]
2.) Refactor code to a MVC architecture, so that I can create separate GUIs while using the same version of the business logic code. [90% DONE - Remaining necessary work will show up while doing 3.) ]
3.) Create new GUIs for Windows and OS X using the same business logic, but based on the cross-platform Firemonkey libraries.
4.) Release Windows version (32 and 64 bit) based on FireMonkey.
5.) Release source-code for FireMonkey Windows version.
7.) Release OSX version based on FireMonkey.
8.) Release source code for FireMonkey OSX version.

Changes for v1.5
-Fixed stack overflow bug when switching to another currency in personal account management
-Added password generator for adding new accounts in personal account manangement

Changes for v1.4
-Added market charts (DGEX, Bter, NxtChg, Vircurex) and exchange rates (from cyptocoincharts.info)
-Added feature to show NXT assets in other currencies in the personal account management
-You can now synchronize your address book after a NXT Solaris update with default address book that I ship that holds account numbers of exchnages, faucets and such
-Implemented orphan block cleanup
-Moved to Delphi XE5 in preparation for multiplatform support and open-source FireMonkey GUIs
-Windows 32-bit and 64-bit versions are now available

Thanks to NxtChg.com for doing the small animation in the status bar!

Donations
I hope you like my client and I’d be extremely happy to see some donations for the future of this project!

I have a UK account but wouldn't use it. .. Mine was blocked just because I went on a online shopping spree. Had a phone call claiming to be the fraud team ...

That happened to me too, yesterday actually  Undecided.

The banks in both the UK and the US are implementing creeping de-facto currency controls, they are in big trouble with liquidity now that the Fed is tapering off QE.

Well my post wasn't to discourage you rickyjames with regards to using your uk account for bittylicious but to highlight what uk banks are doing to restrict personal accounts. HSBC recently had a limit on how much cash you could withdraw unless you had a explanation for it (like a receipt from a builder etc) but this has been reviewed.

I have known for a long time that my bank has similar restrictions but it was always a case of notifying them in advance of a large cash withdrawal. Though never had to explain what the money was for but now im sure I would have to.

My feeling is for a personal account accepting money and sending money to various accounts via bank transfers is just going to get you a lot of interest quite quickly. Even though its not you're main account I can see it might worth a try but for a persons main account no way lol, it might be froze for the bank to look into and that might take a while. To long for a account that's in use for daily things.

Is anyone here running nxtcrypto forums? If so can I somehow "reset my password"?
I don't see link anywhere. I once found an contact e-mail somewhere, but my question was left without an answer.

I am going to readd this feature now.

well it looks like the option to change password (if you already know existing one) was already added.  to reset password required mail server to be configured for the box.  Im not the unix admin on that box so I cant do that.  I will ask BTC24 about this.

Any news on that?

no reply yet.  maybe people all need to start PMing him btc24 here and adminius on forums.nxtcrypto.org

So tomorrow, from 17th it'll be two weeks... still nothing.
I PMed btc24 on 20th.

(not to mention, that it'd be easier if one could login with nxt token, like on http://nxtion.com)

Reminder, this starts now:

"

[SWARM] Exchange Push

Team,

It's time to let the exchanges know it's time to add Nxt. Please do the following:

1. Visit the Google Doc for a list of exchanges and their respective email addresses

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuputZyRQ5-5dFY4RlBTdFJWWnhTRUp3SWdiMlBpb3c&usp=sharing#gid=0

2. Email each exchange

- Let them know why you think they should add Nxt (marketcap, features, community etc..)
- You could easily use the same email for each exchange

3. Record your results here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuputZyRQ5-5dFY4RlBTdFJWWnhTRUp3SWdiMlBpb3c&usp=sharing#gid=0

Don't wait for someone else to do the work, let's show the exchanges we're serious about Nxt! - Nikel"
