Why are we suddenly number 4 on CoinMarketCap.com?

Wasn't there another big altcoin between NXT and Bitcoin?

Edit: It was ripple. Cheesy They removed them, yeha! Cheesy

i think coins drop from the list when coinmarketcap cant pull the APIs so they plummet out.

Need some help in understanding the basics of NXT.

I thought that transparent mining would greatly decrease transaction time. However, average transactions of for example 100 NXT with 1 NXT fee take a few hours. To me this is slow and not VISA speed at all. Could someone clarify why the transaction time is a few hours?

Yeha I was more talking about the domain then anything else.

The http://www.mynxt.info site looks really good indeed. Smiley

And your right that there is an enormous amount of work in the blockchain.info site.

All,  Ive created a DNS A record for blocks.nxtcrypto.org resolving to 87.230.14.1 which is nexern's block explorer.  In a bit of time it should propogate through the internet.  Now nexern's server may/maynot work correctly with this, but if anyone else can think of a better name than blocks for the site, let me know

Yeah, it won't work correctly.  I briefly pointed http://www.nxtexplorer.com/ at it about a month ago, but his VPS wouldn't accept it.  I already contacted nexern a while back to let him know he can have the nxtexplorer.com domain gratis, but he's a busy guy.  Soon.

brute forcers would 'bloat' the blockchain and make a shitload of addresses unusable.

Am I wrong?

Yup - that is why I said "trickier" and I don't have a solution at the moment - but it is something worth thinking about (perhaps involving getting an existing NXT holder to provide 1 NXT for said purpose?).

An API call that lets you specify the whole public key of the account you want to send money to, and puts the whole public key in the chain would solve this.  You'd have to send at least 1 NXT to reserve the public key.

A bonus is that you could make a 256bit address and load it with NXT at the same time for a paper wallet.

Good point. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Better yet, combine stats from all exchanges. Shouldn't be too hard to do. Who has made contact with them before?

Maybe I found our audit guy (for PoS and/or crypto algo).
Max Keiser is launching his own pump&dump shit coin and tweeted this (thank you asshole):

A bit of googling later:

"Smart is best known for his work in Elliptic curve cryptography, especially work on the ECDLP.[1][2][3] He has also worked on Pairing-based cryptography contributing a number of algorithms such as the SK-KEM[4] and the Ate-pairing[5]

Smart carries out research on a wide variety of topics in cryptography. Recently, he has been instrumental in the effort to make secure multiparty computation practical. A few of his works in this direction include [6][7][8]"

What do you think guys?

STOP

Agreed... but I thought CfB said a hexagon? Smiley

EDIT: I think the shape only denotes STOP to USians, and it certainly can't be confused with a coin (I've got no dog in this fight, however)

Yes, very similar. Just need to add the ornament instead of the white border and textures.

This isn't modeled, but is a simple icon/logo:

"NXT image"
"Stop sign"

Are you saying the shape of the NXT sign reminds you of a stop sign and has a negative connotation?  Actually the NXT symbol is a hexagon and a stop sign is an octagon, they aren't even the same shape...

I wonder if BCNext has picked the hexagonal NXT symbol he did for a reason...like bees in a hive using a hexagonal comb?  Could this be an allusion to a "hive"?

Which ornament, CfB? What did I miss?

BCNext chose the colors. That was my idea to use hexagon to show that Nxt is a platform (similar to bees' combs).
