This https://blockchain.info thing for Nxt would be slick wouldn't it?  Cheesy

There is a block explorer around already (but your suggested domain name might be a better home) - btw blockchain.info has had a *huge* amount of work put into it over the last couple of years (and has had full-time employees for some time) so I think it would take a while for a Nxt equivalent to become "that polished".

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

Well - that block explorer does *look* a lot more like blockchain.info - and does have a few nifty features - kudos to the creator(s)!

a sneak peak to my idea about a green Nxt video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic_WLMPX888&feature=youtu.be

Salsacz-

I've thought a little more and have made slight mods to my suggested short-line edits.  In particular, adding "Max" and "go green with NXT" and "there's a lot of smartphones".  I think if you fade them in slightly after the text above them appears, it will add dramatic and comedic beats to your excellent video.

But these are only suggestions, this is your show and you obviously have a gifted touch for running it.  NXT is lucky to have access to your creative energy.

SUGGESTED IN COLORED OUTLINE FONT YOU ARE USING:

*******************************

Bitcoin network:
7 Transactions Per Second (TPS)

Max.

He's mining NXT right now
On his smartphone
NXT: $300 a day for 7 TPS

Mine NXT with your
smartphone or Raspberry Pi
NXT: $300 a day for 7 TPS

Don't freeze in Iceland
Don't waste energy on Bitcoin
Go green with peer-to-peer NXT

NXT network:
100,000 TPS coming soon

(there's a lot of smartphones)

mynxt.org

**************************

If I get to speak in Texas, I will leave this video looping over and over with no sound behind me on the screen during the 20 minute audience question and answer session....

Speaking about voting. Can we just make it possible to choose method when one starts a voting? And maybe even edit parameters?

Yes, we can.

For all the people discussing voting (and I appreciate it!), let's not focus on whether it's 1 NXT = 1 vote or 1 account = 1 vote - it's neither.

If we want to solve it we need to find a clever, unexpected, original solution.

So start throwing here your crazy ideas, like "voting with your car" or "voting with your cat", instead of going in circles.
It would be great to develop a decentralized social network based on nxt. This will bring personalities to decision making process and they will care about their reputation. Also there will be groups and message boards to work together on world problems. On the other hand, such network itself will make nxt famous and everybody in the world will know what it is.
Let's give free people everything they need: money, power, electronic democracy!
Was it crazy enough?

CFB offered a bounty to develop a decentralized forum similar to BTT, but no one had tackled the project so far

The http://www.mynxt.info site looks really good indeed. Smiley

And your right that there is an enormous amount of work in the blockchain.info site.

How much longer is discussion about 5 separate topics going to occur in one thread? Am I the only one who thinks this is an ineffective way of communicating?

NXT can duplicate any function in much less time than Bitcoin took to create that function in the first place.

They have the advantage of first-to-market branding and innovation.

We should take advantage every chance we get of next-to-market reduction in effort required to achieve equivalent functionality.

This might sound like a n00b question, but I have no answer.

As we all know NXT price seems to stabilize around 0.00008500 BTC.
Why doesn't the price increase as BTC loses value? This doesn't make sense to me.

It's like a currency exchange rate. When the Euro gains value, the Dollar gets cheaper and vice versa.

How come we stay on these prices then?
Since there is no direct NXT <>fiat conversion (yet) available, this makes it even weirder. Am I right?

Then when NXT seems to lose value you get LESS BTC for your NXT, but when BTC loses value, you do not get MORE NXT...??

What am I missing?

just a guess but ppl might be selling there nxt for btc and btc for usd... thus both being sold at the same rate... if btc is falling in value your not just guna stop when you get to btc.. you will trade out to usd and make more btc and then be able to buy more nxt..

Actually there is direct NXT <>fiat conversion available, and the fiat is CNY. You can find it in Bter.
As to the price, I don't think BTC is losing value, the BTC price is just fluctuating a little bit, nothing more.
So is the the price of Nxt, 0.00008500 or 0.00009000, no big difference.
Once thing you might notice is that the trade volume in DGEX or Bter is declining sharply, about which I am curious.

That's true there is a direct CNY/NXT conversion, but even before Bter NXT did not move when the value of BTC changed.
At the moment BTC is losing value compared to fiat, doesn't matter if it's called fluctuation, it losing/gaining value.  Wink

Since the main exchange is NXT <> BTC, you should see some form of price adjustment when one or the other loses or gains value.

I understand what you are saying btc for usd, but that is not correct. That BTC <> USD has no relation to NXT <> BTC.

Let me put it like this: when BTC crashes to $100. Would you still sell you NXT for 0.00010000? No, you would want a LOT more. Because now you see that BTC has lost it's value.

Don't you think it would be more effective and productive to discuss individual, big topics such as the voting system, asset exchange, marketing etc. in their own threads? Wouldn't it be easier and more timely for people to catch up on things that are of immediate interest if they can be found in dedicated topics rather than having to page through 20 pages of a mixing pot of client problems, voting system discussion, Too Damn High memes, questions about when NXT is going to hit $1, etc? Come on Ricky James, you're one of the more sensible people around these parts.

One can always head over to the NXT forums, eh?

This thread has a different purpose, it's indeed a mix of everything (which makes it so interesting imho).

I have no problem following all topics. If anything, it's convenient to monitor only one thread instead of 5.

Yes, for now, but as the complexity of the NXT ecosystem grows (and it seems like many here are expecting some sort of exponential growth), this will be a poor form of organizing and sifting through information, no?

Great!

Do you have any information as to how good the chances are to add NXT @ Cryptsy?
How long might that take?
