I think we have enough clients as of now. Improving blockchain explorer would be more useful.

I disagree, we have only one standalone client for windows.

NXT Solaris , Offspring, dotNXT

And Wesley's client will be OS neutral.

Only offspring is standalone.

NXT Solaris is standalone. It can sign transactions locally and broadcast it to nodes.

oh nice. I am not upto date anymore i guess. Does that mean you can forge without sending away your password? or is it just like multibit?

No, you can't forge without sending your password to a public node.  That requires NRS server but I think it is included with the Solaris download (not sure).

Added an APITestServlet for manual debugging and testing of the
API. All http API calls will now automatically be listed under:

http://localhost:7876/test

or if you need to try only a specific one, e.g. getBalance:

http://localhost:7876/test?requestType=getBalance

Unlike the admin.html page, this listing is automatically
generated and will include all available API calls without
having to be manually updated when a new one is added.

I suspect that it is an original stakeholder filling in the empty blocks with some transactions. Giving back to the community if you will.

You might be on to something there Wink

Nice to see something like that.

Just a reminder if you did not have done it yet.

Please go vote on the Nxt slogans: https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-slogan-poll!/

Before voting, you can read this (at least the first link) to understand what type of slogan is needed for Nxt:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-needs-got-milk/
http://www.simplimation.com/blog/9/how-to-create-an-unforgettable-slogan
http://www.inc.com/guides/201101/new-rules-of-writing-a-memorable-slogan.html
http://www.adslogans.co.uk/ans/index.html
http://www.adslogans.co.uk/hof/2003.html
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Advertising_slogans
http://www.thinkslogans.com/slogans/advertising-slogans/

Nothing is official, but before posting in the poll thread, please read the first post. As damelon said, you can see this process as a game.

You can suggest new slogan that will be added on a next poll. But, in order to be listed on the next poll, you now need to explain why  in a couple of sentences  the proposed slogan is good for Nxt. The idea is to find a slogan which would be really nice, appealing, simple and have a long term value.

More importantly than voting, please consider leaving your opinion on the poll thread.

I'll post this message in the pub thread every couple of days for advertising.

Thanks

I want to point out that since Offspring embeds NXT and has direct access to the database in the latest 0.4.0 release it contains a complete blockexplorer.

From the main menu (click "Block Explorer") you can enter and look up any account, transaction or block.

For each account you can see all transactions, aliases, blocks forged and assets. For each transaction you can see the sender, receiver, block and the JSON text. A Block windows contain a list of transactions, the JSON text and the generator account.

All these things (ID's) can be clicked (with your mouse) and opens the clicked transaction, block, account in a (the same) window to further explore.

There also is a list of recent blocks and a list of recent transactions (in the advanced section beneath the live active peer data), those lists are endless you can click 'next' on those tables until the genesis block. Again each transaction, sender, receiver or block can be clicked and they will open in their own window.

As I said on https://nxtforum.org/alternative-clients/(windows-mac-linux)-open-source-cross-platform-offspring-237/ ..

OFFSPRING IS MOUSE FRIENDLY

Click Click Click

Everything is CLICKABLE. Click any account number, transaction id, block id etc..

Watch out for RSI. Cause it's addictive

Wink

But all kidding aside, Offspring is open source and we welcome anyone to come and join the development.

.. (runs on Mac OSX, Linux and Windows)

..Edit..

Forgot to mention that for each transaction in any of the lists it shows if it's a payment, alias, bid/ask order, issue asset.. Etc.. that saves at least some clicks on non interesting transactions (because my god almost 100000 transactions are a lot  Shocked)

Thanks. It took a few hours of experimentation, but I was able to make my own C library for this. At least I got actual valid JSON from bitcoind without using system() or fork()!

A forging node decides to be dishonest to disrupt the network, he verifies transactions but packages half of the transactions into one block, half into another block.  He sends one of those half blocks to one half of the nodes he's supposed to passing information on to and the other half block to the other half of the half of those nodes. He tells them they are complete blocks.  Now nodes have a fork as approved by the forging node.  How do they learn about it and prevent these dishonest nodes?
