Any thoughts on how to deal with fees for devcoin withdrawals in pools? Looks like I'll have to set a much larger minimum withdrawal for devcoin since I can't judge how much the fees are. I'm getting people withdrawing 2 devcoin and I'm paying a 6 devcoin fee for it.

Pools payout the total generation amount based on shares submitted. So people with lower hash rates get lower amounts. With mmpool it's PPS so they get (at the moment) 0.29 devcoins per share or so.

Cablepair is now a devcoin administrator:

His main duty is to determine if someone wrote enough stuff to earn devcoins by writing:

and if they asked for generation shares, he would add them to a devtome bounty list which would be added to the main bounty list. If they asked for bitcoins, he would have the option of sending them bitcoins and putting himself on the devtome bounty list for that transaction, or he could ask me to send the bitcoins, in which case I would go on the bounty list.

Also, when there is a fifth administrator, he will maintain a copy of the receiver files, like:

For all this work he will get an extra generation share for as long as he wants to be an administrator.


Anyone who has been on the bitcoinshare or devcoinshare list for a month and works well with others can ask to be an adminstrator at any time, and leave at any time. To get on one of the lists you can do some open source development, and/or you can write, or port over stuff you have written, at least a thousand words a month for devtome.

So, Cablerepair is the one determining who goes into the pool("Cablepair is now a devcoin administrator").  And, seperately, he is trying to use an affliate link to VIRCUREX.COM to scam some coins from everyone.    Ha, this time is NOT different.

When did it become a freakin crime to give out an affiliate link? I mean seriously dude the reason all the exchanges have affiliate links is because people use them, its not a scam - most pools (even the big ones) if you look around you will find some where - where it gives a price of Bitcoin and you click on it and it goes to the pool ops affiliate link on an exchange. Some Bitcoin websites (that are advertised on this forum) make 90% of their money from affiliate links, you think when you go buy a Amazon gift card from spendbitcoins.com that he makes a lot of money off the sale of the card? Hell no - he makes his money when you go through his affiliate link to buy your stuff. People even have tradehill affiliate links in their signatures - this is common practice - you need to really freakin lighten up I mean seriously. Its not that big of a deal - you are the definition of a forum troll - you have nothing to do with a situation at all but you think its your business to pop in out of no where and start throwing around b.s. - your a clown and a troll - go take it some place else. Thank you.

its crazy man - you get involved with an alternative coin and people are super critical of your every move.

I have seen all kinds of people give affiliate links for Tradehill.com and have NEVER EVER seen anyone get accused of being a scammer for doing so.

Well now you have me wondering, if I forgot to re-upload to SourceForge after some last-moment update to the github. I had had the impression that after the github version was completed I then made the packages that are now on sourceforge. So the sourceforge ones are intended to be the current latest working versions, I thought they are, but sleep/wake cycles lately have been such that you had me wondering. I was pretty sure they were fine until you posted that they aren't.

Anyone else mining devcoins,  I have a pool setup with merged mining and I'm up to 80,000 shares and not one devcoin block solved yet, but when I go to pool.devcoin.org, that website seems to be getting blocks every 2000 shares.  Is there something wrong with the system.

my pool is not actually getting blocks,

I was stupid and used my pool wallet address to receive my generation shares as a devcoin developer

so when a block is mined in this generation the pool that mines it gets 5000 devcoins and then 45000 get sent to my wallet address which is also used by the pool

so the pool thinks its solving a block but really its just a receive transaction

so basically my miners are getting free devcoins and im getting screwed

but its ok, I dont mind - I am happy they are mining at my pool and they can have the devcoins - hopefully it does some good for DVC as a whole.

in all reality my pool has not solved an actual devcoin block since yesterday
I am just paying out of my own pocket for my miners to have this DVC

I already requested the shares be sent to another address so this stops happening but it wont kick in until block 28000 or something
