Thanks, I completely misunderstood then. I thought it meant that the banks would no longer honor attempts to send one's own money to the exchanges.

New logo looks good.

Mining seems really slow. Mined all last night and only got 4 coins Sad. I only have 50 coins at the moment. Did the difficulty just take a super-jump or is it my computer/pool?

The difficulty is soaring as more and more people mine the coin.  The rate has gone as high as over 3 GH/s.  Just a week ago, it was lucky to be pushing 35 MH/s, now both of the pools I'm in (coin-base.org and SBC cryptocult) have a hash rate over 50 MH/s.

Yes, and that's weird. I'd like to know where the hell those 2 or 3 GH/s are hidden. The big pools do not have 300 MH/s all together.  Huh

Mixing systems require a trusted entity to function.

What about zerocoin? The block chain can replace the centralized trusted entity.

So does anyone know what profit-switching pool is supporting SBC currently? The hashrate keeps making mad jumps and dips and whichever switching pool it is has WAAAAAAAY more hash power than any SBC pool. I'd like to get in on the switching pool and keep the SBC if possible, since whenever they switch over they basically are taking all the coins...

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems it's hashco.ws that is hopping on SBC

But if you use one of those profit-switching pools, most of the day you'll be mining other coins that you probably don't want or don't think will increase in value much, when you could be mining SBC, so is it worth it just to ensure you get a cut of the blocks it finds on the occasions it does switch to mining SBC?

What do I know though, I seem to be looking at only mining 12 SBC/day at the moment, when I should be getting about 26!

sbc.cryptoculture.net

At 9:30 EST we restarted the mining pool in order to lower the difficulty settings.  Some of the miners with lower hashrates were having issues.   Sorry for the inconvenience.

Everyone needs to reboot their miner for the new difficulty settings.

I have my hashrate load balanced between a dedicated SBC pool and hashcows. I like the guaranteed steady income of auto converted BTC from hashcows, and since they let you choose which coins to convert and which to keep I can get BTC for the ones I don't want and keep the ones that I do, like SBC.

Looks like we are experiencing a DDOS attack at sbc.cryptoculture.net

Really sucks for us small time miners, but it's good for the value of the coins we do mine.

My rate has dropped from ~630 to ~ 450 KH/s over the past 2 days (that's what the pool sees, computer still says 650 KH/s).

How come this happens when the mining rate on your computer shows one thing and the pool shows another? I'm getting a similar situation... I should be showing 80kh/s on one of my miners and it keeps showing up as 15khs..

On another note:  I LOVE THE NEW LOGO!!!!    "CUT!  PRINT!"

Catswold, we lowered the difficulty at sbc.cryptoculture.net.     We were experiencing a DDOS attack and were tweaking settings to mitigate it.   Let me know if you have any issues.   You can send an email at support@cryptoculture.net

If anyone has any suggestions to thwart DDOS attacks please let me know.  In the meantime it's looking good.

Upvoted, thanks for doing some reddit marketing.  Makes a big difference, in my opinion.

Upvoted as well, good job. Yes it makes a colossal difference actually, even though the page may have 30 votes total there have been at least 5,000 people who saw that page I think.
