unless im missing something theoretically there should be a PoW block on average every 30 seconds, give or take. diff shouldn't hit 4 unless sum1 BIG is soloing, and were not seeing the PoW blocks generated by that theoretical solo miner(s).

im pretty sure its counting PoS blocks towards the block time target for some reason. that or another problem is driving diff up.

earlier neither pool showed blocks for a loooong time even with combined 50 MH. theoretically with say at least 1/5 of the network 1/5 of the generated blocks would get hit by the pool, or a block every 2.5 mins. when you don't hit a block for an hour, something aint right. even if the diff gets bumped up you could expect a block every 10 mins tops.

currently seems to be working ok so that's good. blocks are rolling in much faster now.

900 MH/s

k its almost deffo counting PoS towards diff.

hopefully we can get another fix and hopefully its not the same problem as before, duno why it would work for awhile then have problems again. its not an issue of total stakes out, it must be something overflowing after a period of time and the code gets confused about whats what.

This is exactly the problem, there is no big fish mining for 5 minutes on then 5 minutes off. Lets wait to hear from bosian and see what he has to say about it. Maybe he can fix it for good which would be cool and if not then get rid of PoS. It's his call.

ya it may take some time to fix for good. at least right now its still generating PoW blocks so coins are being mined, just not as many as desired. when it does get fixed the coins/day should go up.

So basically why I did the run through the block chain is that if a theoretically huge solo miner was working away, we should see PoW blocks being taken by this miner - and those 50 blocks showed that there wasn't one then.  Not that there isn't one - but within that sample, he wasn't there, so chances are he doesn't exist.  Hence the smoking gun points to PoS as the culprit.  So, next question - how do we fix it?

i don't think its helping anything in this case, not sure about wat happened with COL.

but im pretty sure for GRA that it would get more miners behind it if it worked correctly for awhile. exchange isn't going to list a coin that is unstable, but hopefully bosian will have some reply soon.

i don't think we need to jump to any conclusion, there is no reason to make your coin broken on purpose when you already have a premine. pretty sure this is just some complicated thing that happens to some coins because its hard to dev coins.

please dont summon him here like that, its the last thing this coin needs

We have a dev with a noob account and a problematic coin. Typical of that mudder fudder.

Cryptoland has a ponzi coin epidemic on its hands. We need to find out who is behind all this.

COL has bee PoS only for months and he has recently abandoned it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279601.msg4097322#msg4097322

Pardon my assumptions but, I have seen enough to know better as all the earmarks are there.

What about the PoS on the pre-mine wallets?  Could this be where it is coming from?  If so, maybe get those wallets closed.  We can't all close our wallets otherwise the whole network will stop  Wink

I think it come from a lot of small amounts of grain transfered to wallets. For example i set the pool to send after 10000, and interests about 14 GRAIN comes frequently. I think Bosian need to separate the POS block generation's relation from difficulty. It will be worse and worse.  (sry my english is not accurate)

Till then i recommend to set pool payout as high as you wanna risk.
Sending you money to another wallet would help decreasing difficulty either.
But theese are not solutions.

BTW i keep mining, im loyal, and if this problem will be solved, than loyalty worth it Smiley

I just realized if difficulty would be independent from POS blocks, but they still count as a block, reward halving would come much earlier, than 3 months.

I asked bosian about this and he said it wouldn't happen. although he seems to be MIA right now.

Could this problem be solved by increasing the PoS difficulty?

no idea. seems like same issue as before, so maybe it can be fixed, maybe not. when bosian check in he will have something to say im sure. just wait and see what will happen, for now its seems mining is ok sort of.
