Hi

Reported this back in march, but nobody seemed to care.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001603.0

Denis

Yep I linked your fix on the previous page:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104664.msg11299133#msg11299133

Seems indeed no one took too much notice of it ... took them a few weeks to even realise you posted a fix for them Smiley

If anyone uses node stratum or variant you can just replace the function registerSubmit in blockTemplate.js with...

 this.registerSubmit = function(extraNonce1, extraNonce2, nTime, nonce){
    var extraNonce1_bin = new Buffer(extraNonce1, "hex")
    var extraNonce2_bin = new Buffer(extraNonce2, "hex")
    var nTime_bin = new Buffer(nTime, "hex")
    var nonce_bin = new Buffer(nonce, "hex")

    var submission = new Buffer.concat([extraNonce1_bin, extraNonce2_bin, nTime_bin, nonce_bin])

    if (submits.indexOf(submission) === -1){
        submits.push(submission);
        return true;
    }

    return false;
}

FYI the coinbase tag "/pool34/" and address 15rQXUSBQRubShPpiJfDLxmwS8ze2RUm4z are mined by 21E6/21 Inc's private pool.

Source?

The big fat copyright notice at the bottom of their pool server webpage(its offline now). BTW they switched mining addresses to 1CdJi2xRTXJF6CEJqNHYyQDNEcM3X7fUhD and removed the coinbase tag.

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can get independent confirmation.

Is 21e6 the same pool34?

Probably, that's what bitsolutions was saying.

Yes, the url pool34.com belongs to 21 Inc. which is the where they were running a pool server from(they have since hidden the pool server's http interface).

Are you volunteering?  I'm sure Organofcorti would be happy to pass the baton to you if so.

In the mean time why remove the sticky to the listing of pools?  The sticky isn't stopping anyone from making a new pool list if they want to.

Also if it isn't updated that is only because the pool owners haven't taken the responsibility to post updates to this list.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

I did not mean to offend Organofcorti , I did not realize that the pool Manager/Creator were responsible for maintaining their listing..

I would still maintain the list as i am slightly obsessive and would try and do my best.

If everyone is happy with the way things are, then I will stfu and keep on keeping on.

Well if you really want to give a go PM OoC.  He asked a few pages back for someone else to take it over.  I wouldn't mind if a "slightly obsessive" individual such as yourself wanted to take up the task.  Remember this is for Bitcoin only and not for alt coin pools as they have their own section and list.

Also I don't think you offended anyone and I'm sorry if I gave the impression you did.

Can you tell me which ones need to be removed or added? I have no way of knowing what needs to be done until someone tells me.

Yes, not offended at all, and I did ask if someone wanted to take over. Obsessive is good, as is having time to manage the list.

If you want to take over and you want to do it differently from the way I've done it,  post your suggestion and either poll or ask people to comment if they have any problems with you taking over the mining pools list. If the readers of this board are OK with the change, I'll lock my post and get it unstickied, and let you get yours stickied.

So, long story short - post an example of what you would do if you managed the list and if people don't mind it, I'll pass the responsibility to you. How does that sound?

Absolutely nothing is wrong with the format. its very detailed I just thought it was not maintained is all. like I said I did not realize your intentions were to let the pool operators inform you of changes or entries.. I kind of assumed you just researched it all and saved everyone else the time.

Its all good

Well, thank you for the compliment, but the offer still stands.

You can even keep the format the same - just quote my first couple of posts in this thread and make a new post. If you have time to do the research then that would be beneficial for everyone, I just don't have the time to do it.

If you could pm me the code of the posts i will just copy and paste exaclty as you have it. ( not sure if you have tables or special formatting.  ) The pictures i can add to my imgur or one of my personal hosted url's so you dont have to host them any longer.  I will of course ensure that you have full founding author credits.

If you hit the "quote" button under the post, you can copy and paste everything you'll need.

Edit: don't worry about author credits, just link to my thread in your first post.

You copying OOC's post will not guarantee that your post gets stickied unless you show you're maintaining it for a while at the same standard.

Yes, I really didn't make that clear, sorry. As ck wrote, stickying is not going to happen because you create a new Pools list - only if you make it clear that you can maintain it.

Looking for a pool I can point my Bitmain sha Miners to that has a payout based upon time mined.
Reason is I can only mine 14 hours a day.

I know Eclipse had that type of mining option but I forget the name of it.
Looking for an alternative to Eclipse since I don't like BFL.

Preferred a low or no fee if possible.

Could you point me in the right direction?
