48    Catcoin   $ 333,193   $ 0.32   1,040,400 CAT   $ 15,499   +4.12 %

Sad. So undervalued. From experience in the stock market, we determined risk/reward ratio based on the market capitalization.
This is 5th most watched and 3rd most replied altcoin thread in this entire subforum. And we are at a measly $333k market cap!
This is what drives me to buy this coin. And I will keep buying it until it's true value is realized.
For now my job is to scare weak hands into selling to me for cheaper Smiley

Look at the top 5 most viewed altcoin threads and their market caps and tell me what you see wrong with the picture.

#1 NXT           $ 44,948,819      17013    219488
#2 DOGE           $ 5,874,966      10120    641777
#3 CAT                  $ 333,193        7147    146108
#4 EAC             $ 1,229,524       5032    132705
#5 QRK            $ 20,473,676      4718    272113

Don't know what we'd do without ya Leo. We need some money behind this coin.

I should (hopefully) have my new graphics card tomorrow. I'm thinking of mining Cat full time as an investment. At the very least I can throw 740khash at it while I continue to use my other card for other coins.

I'm starting to come around to the idea of coming up with a difficulty adjustment algorithm that will stop getting this cat strangled by the multipools. I'm concerned we'll end up rushing like we did last time and end up in an even worse state. The readjustment time is perfectly fine, the difficulty swings need to go. I'm sure if we put our heads together we can come up with the best difficulty adjustment algorithm to fix this. I don't think setting caps will work. If the swings are small, we've just made the coin more stable, but it won't increase in value because the difficulty will still keep wavering. Perhaps a cap, and with every swing up an additional 0.1% difficulty increase on top of the base difficulty level. The coin would swing, but it would slowly swing upwards (hypothetically). This 0.1% would only be added per upswing, so if the coin's difficulty did get too high a couple of downswings would correct it, but more upswings than downswings would cause the difficulty to slowly go up. 0.1% Maybe up a little conservative, but the idea is for it to be a cumulative and gradual affect.

Coupled with this would have to be a cap on the downswing, so it doesn't drop too low. In theory, with the caps as well it should encourage difficulty growth if the difficulty isn't allowed to drop too much in one downswing.

Just throwing ideas out there at this stage.

I gave the dev 200 coins the other day and didn't even get a thanks or anything in return for it.
I created a thread in the other forum saying that I would giveaway 1000 CAT if we broke 45000.
I gave skillface 20 cat because he made a dumb move and I felt bad lol.
I have created multiple threads on other forums promoting CAT and received a ton of views but very little feedback.
And last but not least, I've been trying over and over to drive the price up by buying but no one backs me up so I have taken consistent losses.
I may have the cash but I'm not stupid. If I see a dead end I'll cut my losses. Luckily I have faith that we will recover Cheesy

The market is very thin, if we get 30 people with 1 BTC each we could double our price per coin easily. And that isn't unreasonable, look at the volume on cryptsy.

I agree, he said so himself, this isn't his project, it's our project.
Is someone out there willing to take the helm?
I would but I'm an investor, not a coder.
Hoser how is the fork coming along?

I hope we're actually going to find out what, and how the fork is going to work. I also hope the pools and exchanges are notified as well. Forking is seriously risky business. Could make or break any coin.

maybe client wont need fixing
but if it does cat is pissed without dev
We have a dev and a new board of directors - and a pretty amazing group overall. The Cat's still a kitten, and the fork hasn't yet gotten it's legs.  Get rich slowly.Wink

On that note: Tick-tock goes the block...

Leo, there are people besides you who are interested and will come back to the thread, you are not alone don't worry. but CAT is not main job for most of us, and different time zones. Ideally large stakeholders should agree to hire some professional or at least semipro team which would do marketing outside. and it would help if activities are coordinated, so there is some manager who distribute tasks. however, for now, it is not quite clear whether big stakeholders have a joint plan of coin development. i donated today 100 to dev, 100 to marketing address from OP, and 50 to blogs. hope that teams picks up on that. Also Nullu, Kuroman, last1212, jhonny_non all quite active. Please also take notice of earlier posts strelok369 who IMHO has some of the best insights on here... May the CAT be with you Wink Kisa

I barely have half a Bitcoin to my name, and believe me, it's all tied up in Catcoin. It's basically everything I've made in the last two weeks. It may not be a lot, but it's a lot to me. Every bit of BTC I make seems to somehow end up going into this coin. I can't do any more than that, really. I need a small float of BTC to speculate to make more BTC, but until my mining rig is upgraded I'm not making enough to make a decent investment. Hopefully I'll finally have a decent solo mining rig to get some decent altcoin trades done this weekend.

steep price rises could be dangerous for the coin if it attracts dumpers but there are no new buyers... then price will fall back to the same level, and people who bought will feel at loss...

why should we invest on doubling the price now?
wouldn't this attract multipools to CAT who start dumping?
how would this affect coin survival prospects as there are no users yet outside this community?

LeoC,

If you haven't already, check my post out from a few pages ago here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=380130.msg4399260#msg4399260

We're very much still into this coin. I've got 4 Mhash on it 24/7 loss or not, and I actually am doing ok-ish..... 350 coins in past 5 days....so still more profit than LTC, at least IMHO. THis coin is set to go great places, we just have to get it forked, and I actually have to have 5 consecutive minutes to rebuild the social media pages. I sent you a PM, I'd like you to join our dev team and help us from a marketwatch/finance side of things. If you're interested, please PM me and I'll give you the IRC channel, we'd love to have your insight to better position this coin and get it mainstream.

Thanks!

KM

Leo, just look at how the well established coins in every category made it, Bitcoin, took almost 3 year to even start getting traded, 5 years to reach a decent market cap and a couple afterwards to reach the 1k barrier and become as notorious as it is
LTC, XPM, RIPPLE all has to go trough a long process, to achieve maturity

CAT is 2 weeks old , it's not even close to be mature yet it's being traded for a fair share of money, sure it is undervaluated when the diff it's over 40, but with the current hash rate the diff normally shoudn't get above that number.

The value will increase that is if we keep this coin interesting, but how can we do that? well I think I've explaned this before in a previous long post, this doesn't happen overnight, it's a long process, requires alot of effort and investiment.

Lets just keep working on it, it would be nice if someone can creat an Android/iOS game, for catcoin, it doesn't need to be complex something catchy, this for example can be an investiment, someone who had the potentional can invest some time to this, if there is no one interessted, some big holders can give android devs an incentive to do so.

I have less than a 100 cat so I'm not a big holder by any mean, I'm just enticed to the catcommunity and been here since day one and want to see this coin succed

C

Press the help button, go to debug, then console tab.

Type (without quotes , press enter after each command) "addnode eu.coinium.org add", "addnode us.coinium.org add", "addnode teamcatcoin.com add".

If that doesn't work, and your in windows 7, type back here and we can try a couple more things.

Yes so far so good, also the next estimated diff, is not nearly as high as we saw in the last few days which means we are getting better and steady
