is 20358 the current block

You got on the same fork I was on, which is apparently the wrong fork. I deleted the "blocks" directory to force a re-download, which my wallet is in the process of doing. I suggest you do the same.

[Edit: Please disregard - my wallet is now stuck on updates at block #8, I apparently don't know the right procedure to re-download the blockchain. Someone who knows the right procedure - please post instructions]

So is there a new post-fork Mac wallet?  Catcoins.biz gives a 500 error.

teamcatcoin just redownloaded the chain it seems. It's now exactly the same as coinium.

20358 should be the right one.

List of current pools that's on right track: (The ones I'm aware of)

http://cat.coinium.org/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool (I've closed registrations to prevent another %51 fork)
http://catpool.pw/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
http://teamcatcoin.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
http://cat.luckyminers.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
http://catpool.in/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
http://cat.mintpool.co/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Distribute your hash-rates over these pools.

I think I've narrowly avoided two heart attacks and aneurysm in this thread tonight.

Quoting this because you sound like you know what you're talking about and I need to cling onto something akin to solid ground tonight.

I think I shall do that....

But first I shall go off and mine something else and have a cup of tea, and wait for the fur to stop flying.

There's a lot of pussycats getting themselves into a state. They (and I) may have lost an evening's production, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
