Why there should  be a special device to run a miner?
Why can't we use a normal computer?
Why there is no Windows version?

The standard for Skywire miners is to use a cluster of ARM boards because this gives better security and efficiency. That being said, Skywire supports Linux and MacOS, and there are instructions for installation available for those platforms as well.

https://downloads.skycoin.net/skywire/Skywire-Installation-Guide-v1.0.pdf

There is currently no official support for Windows, but you might want to try following this guide.

https://skywug.net/forum/Thread-Skywire-node-on-Windows

Running a Skywire node will allow you to run the node client app which lets you test out the vpn function of Skywire, connecting to the internet from all over the world.

Since we are still in the testnet phase, there is no whitelisting planned for nonstandard Skywire nodes, so don't expect to gain mining rewards. During the mainnet, any Skywire nodes would be able to receive mining rewards, but serious participants will be using a standard Skyminer setup with ARM boards, either DIY or Official.

Please have a look at the Official Skywire announcement and visit our telegram.

Skycoin ATMs and POS systems are what gets me hard! That will be a gamechanger, coupled with universal hardware wallets and DEXs nothing will be able to stop Skycoin.

You are talking about DEXs, but what is that? If Skycoin intends to develop a DEX at this point it doesn't mean much. There are several design options and most of them suck because 99% of them have a central point of failure.

Progress on the Skycoin DEX is already well underway. It will initially just support Bitcoin and Skycoin, plus all other coins built on Skycoin's Fiber platform. CX and CXO provide determinism and immutability, opening some design options that you might want to look into. The goal is to ultimately replace any need for centralized exchanges, Fiat integration can be accomplished by use of collateral in Skyhours or other cryptocurrencies.

After addition on Binance SKY can become really huge.
Becoming top-10 coin now is really possible.
Good timing for the bounty campaign as well.
People will be more aware of SKT tech.

Hello everybody. The price at the moment is simply unattainable. The more real price to which the coins will reach within the year 50-70 $. All the successes I wish.

Which sky channel can i find Synth today? I am suffering from Synth withdrawal syndrome  (SWS).Synth seems to be in hiding, likely working with testnet tech & orchestrating the rest of our futures.

Binance puts 50M in BTC volume on SKY's books. Incredible. However, I don't think Binance buyers realize what they have here. I'm so
glad this coin is on an exchange that has very high liquidity meaning no more pump and dumps, no more manipulation. Once the float gets
locked up on Binance and people stop flipping for 200 STS's, SKY will quickly move back to January highs. Next two weeks is critical for BTC to
break out of the bearish trend and set the bull market until the end of the year. Sure we will have pullbacks, but if BTC gets above 8700 and holds
it will set the stage for the alt-coins.

One more thing, beware of some coins on Binance. Most of the coins on this exchange are top 30 coins my market cap and have HUGE supplies
of coins which means it takes tremendous volume to move them. They may be good coins for the long term, but if your looking to make a quick
buck Binance is not for you. Go back to Craptopia. However, there are maybe 20 coins (at most) including SKY that have supplies under 100M coins.

Research the supplies on the info page, people don't like buying 300,000 STS's coins. They like buying cheap ones under 4000 STS's so they can buy more
coins and make more when it moves. I don't think investors on Binance realize SKY's potential and supply yet.

When buying on Binance

1. Pick coins having under 500 million supply (MAX).

2. Pick coins having a market cap under 300M to 1M (there are no 1M market cap coins on Binance)

3. Verify the business model, use www.coincompare.com read what they do and see if it's a real use case

4. For example, ARN set up a blockchain to monitor air travel. Do you think think this alt-coin will survive thru 2020 ? My answer is NO !!! Reason being
better technology will emerge like failsafe controls monitored by a network of orbiting satellites

4. Stay away from POW coins, they are subject to 51% attacks and can be left from billions to thousands in days

5. If you are holding long term and your coin is POS, consider moving your coin to stakeunited.com to earn more coins daily

6. Out of the 1800+ alt-coins, in 2021 75% will fail.

7. Stay away from unproven technology like AI or Mobile technology using blockchain. This will happen in the 2023 - 2026's. Stay away from cloud coins like BLZ (Bluzelle), they will fail. Space is no longer a concern. The concern is scalability and speed. Watch out for Lightning network, blocking and batching coins,
these type of coins will explode.

8. Always keep your coins off the net, on a cold storage device like Ledger Nano S or Trezor. However, ETHOS is setting up a beautiful solution where you
can keep a UNIVERSAL wallet on your cell phone. This wallet will hold all ERC20 tokens and YES all ALT-COINS. The hardware devices out now do not support all
wallets, so what is the purpose of buying it. Plus you have to maintain updates to wallets. ETHOS keep the wallets updated and handle
forks and swaps and airdrops for you. Plus about 30 companies currently having trouble have signed up with ETHOS to air drop free tokens to the UNIVERSAL
wallets regardless if you have a balance in the sub-wallet. You just have to hold 20 BQX (ETHOS) to qualify.

9. With coins like SKY, you know it will succeed so just buy and hold an put your kids thru college. Flipping gets you nowhere but having less coins. Hold through the down
and up. I predict SKY will break $500 a coin by March 2019. Yes that's only a 20X bagger but you will not lose.

10. When the bull market happens, all alt-coins will go up 10X to 50X, do not be mislead by gains. Buy smartly based on supply, real use case, type of coin, current
market cap.

11. Finally, beware of ICO's. Just like the internet in 1998-1999 everyone is forming a coin and starting an ICO to save the world. They will all fail if not trading already.

Good luck and have a merry 2018.

the telegram channel is always my first pick. But it might be a lot to do now with the launch of the testnet and the first miners running

Yes, you don't have to leave the wallet open.

A currency is used for bartering within an economic system. Instead of having a good or service to exchange for another, the currency is used instead as a medium of exchange. This means that the value of the total supply of a currency needs to be somewhat proportional to the value of the economic system. If a currency is deflationary, there is an incentive to hold the currency and let the economic system grow, but this creates a disincentive for the growth of an economic system. People don't want to work more just to earn less. Skycoin is deflationary, it makes an excellent store of value. Coinhours are inflationary and will be spent freely to incentivize growth of the economic system. Any Sky Fiber coin can make use of its own coinhours.

Skyhours are used for:
Preventing transaction spam.
Collateral for off chain transaction mechanisms.
Exchanging for goods and services, e.g. preferential routing on Skywire.
Incentivizing growth of infrastructure and development of services.

Can anyone comment on why SKY fell so much today on coinmarketcap ($16.71 USD (-18.58%)? I love Skycoin and believe it is a diamond among cryptocurrencies. But why does it follow bitcoin down. He used to be more independent. What's the matter?  Any negative news?  Undecided
