Example 1:

On Sunday July 22 I was playing was several tournaments on Betcoin when another Betcoin user (worldpeace) took out my internet for nearly an hour by having a friend dos my ip through the skype exploit. I was able to reconnect briefly a few times, during which he tried to extort $20 from me (i ignored or refused each time)

I opened a ticket and provided screen shots of the extortion attempts and also started a thread to warn other players and secure their skype connection.

I made it clear I wasn't looking for compensation from Betcoin as it wasn't their job to make sure my IP was secure.  But I did expect the user to be banned.

I also checked his Sharkscope and noticed he had won a ridiculously high number of HUSNGs recently, including 8 or 9 in a row that day.  (HUSNG would be easiest way to exploit another player by taking out their internet during match)


Betcoins Response:

WorldPeace was never banned.  He actually won the Betcoin Daily Coin tournament that night as well as the lastlonger and was congratulated by Staff member/"Mod" plo8monster.

 

I can't copy the entire ticket since I'm currently banned, but I do have a screen shot of the only response I received from Betcoin which asked me if he apologized.  You can read my response, I think I bumped the ticket a couple more times and eventually gave up.

Why not play somewhere else?  I play at many different places, but you should play where you are happiest.  I enjoy the community here at Betcoin the most and hope they add the WPN tournaments back in, but casino, sports and dice I also play. 

Would that make it ok for Betcoin to behave this way?

(Currently I am playing over 50 hours a week across 4 different sites, Betcoin has not been one of them.  The last time I included Betcoin in my regular schedule was October 11th, working on explaining why now  )

Yes, you sound like a child.  Take your money elsewhere.  I have had a wonderful time at Betcoin and enjoy the community and all of the options of gameplay.  I have also seen you in the player chat and have no idea why you literally spend all day in there.  If I don't like a line at Betcoin Sports I have many other great options to spend my bitcoin on and so do you.  If you don't like it, you also have many great options as well.  Is this a personal issue you have with Betcoin? 

I understand I have the option to play elsewhere, I've already explained I rarely play on Betcoin anymore - and may never again.  Currently I'm playing on WPN through 5dimes, 4 mtts $109, $44, $33 and $160 buyins, all funded by bitcoin. (sn = goatofgoats) So telling me to "go somewhere else" doesn't really make any sense.  "forget about betcoin and stop trying to hold them accountable" would make more sense.

I'm doing this because I truly believe its the right thing to do

My point was that you haven't updated anyone at all.  That's the frustrating part of the whole situation is that you haven't said clearly what is going on (nobody else that is a skin of WPN has gone down for maintenance) and haven't kept up with your promised updates. 

As for your ring games, I see that you are STILL raking them extra for a "BBJ" which doesn't exist.  That doesn't sit right with me and leads me to wonder what else is going on that isn't in the player's best interests.  And, no offense, but your MTT schedule is very bad.  For the entire day, only 5 non-sat non-freeroll MTTs have run.  The buyins were .5mb, 1mb, 3mb, 4mb and 50mb.  Aside from the daily coin, those hold no interest to me.

Situation:

Player "DINGDINGDING" suspects another player of timed DoS attacks at Betcoin cash games and creates this thread:

Betcoin Andrew responds:

Everyone directly effected by this, please provide feedback if you shared your skype information with anyone. We are still researching this issue in detail and have consulted other websites as well who have shared they have experienced this problem.

The common response has been to advise.

NEVER accept unknown contacts on Skype. If someone has you on Skype they can get your IP address, and with your IP they can DDOS you and cause a disconnect.

Starting to become a common poker con it seems.

This is not the end of our review and we will keep you posted.

Nearly a week goes by and I notice someone makes a post asking for an update get deleted quickly.  (players do not have the ability to delete their own posts - i think )

I wait a day, and then also making a post - asking if the guy was cheating or not. (I had been involved in a very large pot with player, and got disconnected costing me a lot but honestly was not convinced either way if it was )

The other player responded that support had:

threw me 10 extra chips and a status upgrade and told him politely to stfu

When asked for a time frame on when they would make a decision on the cheating:

oh well, gonna be a while and we'll let you know

I have a screen shot of these posts, they were deleted very quickly but if you go through the thread I posted originally you'll see they are gone:



The next day support made its final statement on the matter:

Our research has indicated that this was an issue that many poker rooms have faced in the past. We have integrated some defense mechanisms and are continuing to add more to this. We are happy to report to date it has not occurred again. Please correct us if we are wrong and keep the constructive posts coming on this matter. Individuals effected please submit or bump your original tickets for review.

We all want instant gratification, but things take time, research, preparation programming and hard work. There often isn't an update everyday but overtime there is progress and we will always get things right. We thank you for your support.

- I did reply, leting them know that they didn't mention whether or not the player was cheating and asking how much had been confiscated and if they would be compensating all player, even the ones who didn't read the thread.  This post was deleted before I remembered to screen shot it.

I did submit a ticket, with the screen shot i had already posted in the thread.  I was compensated for exactly what I lost during that one hand (about 400 or 500 chips)  They did not aknowledge my questions about other hands I may have lost money in, or other players who may have lost money and were unaware of the investigation.

I believe this was Betcoins thinly veiled needle, an attempt at shaming us for demanding answers after nearly a week and patting themselves on the back at the same time.


How SHOULD this issue have been handled?


First, freeze the suspected players account and figure out whether the player was cheating or not.  In this case, it would of been pretty easy by simply having anyone with a solid grasp of Pot Limit Omaha8 go over the Hand Histories with hole cards.  

If the player was not cheating - unfreeze the suspects funds and update the thread accordingly.

If the player was cheating - update the thread and let everyone affected know that all players affected would be compensated after they analysed the cheaters hand histories.

Go through every hand played by cheater, determine how much each player suffered - and distribute the funds accordingly.  If the cheater had a balance higher than the ammount the players were cheated,refer to the sites transparent policy on how seized funds are dealt with.

Compensate ALL players affected based ONLY on expert analysis of the hands regardless of whether or not they opened a ticket or how loud they complained.  

Up Next:

A betcoin player starts a thread praising betcoin, but later adds the details of a negative experience with support.  Betcoin deletes the negative posts, leaves the positive, and lie about it in their public players chat room.

-   Betcoin is made aware they have a tournament scheduled daily that is setup to underpay every time it surpasses the guarantee.  They have known about the issue since late June/early July, they haven’t fixed it – but they have deleted threads about it.

-   How Betcoin handled the blacked out tables for the first few levels of the Million Dollar Guarantee on August 2nd.


But first here's some proof that Betcoin pays players to defend them on this forum.

(Maybe this is cool here, I don't know.  But it seems kinda scummy to me and I think at the very least everyone should know that it's happening.)

I read your posts... and I had a similar problem you do with Andrew, but mine was with a different support person (almost 100% sure it was Paul). Essentially lying, and then ignoring my support requests when I posted a link to their own site that showed conflicting information. I was able to resolve this once I made a public thread about the problem. And since then, I have a support ticket that's almost 3 months old (with multiple bumps on it) and another that's like 4 months old (also with multiple bumps), both left unanswered.

Why not play somewhere else?  I play at many different places, but you should play where you are happiest.  I enjoy the community here at Betcoin the most and hope they add the WPN tournaments back in, but casino, sports and dice I also play. 

Would that make it ok for Betcoin to behave this way?

(Currently I am playing over 50 hours a week across 4 different sites, Betcoin has not been one of them.  The last time I included Betcoin in my regular schedule was October 11th, working on explaining why now  )

Yes, you sound like a child.  Take your money elsewhere.  I have had a wonderful time at Betcoin and enjoy the community and all of the options of gameplay.  I have also seen you in the player chat and have no idea why you literally spend all day in there.  If I don't like a line at Betcoin Sports I have many other great options to spend my bitcoin on and so do you.  If you don't like it, you also have many great options as well.  Is this a personal issue you have with Betcoin? 

I understand I have the option to play elsewhere, I've already explained I rarely play on Betcoin anymore - and may never again.  Currently I'm playing on WPN through 5dimes, 4 mtts $109, $44, $33 and $160 buyins, all funded by bitcoin. It your only intention is to discredit me without even putting the effort into reading  what I have to say.  I've already addressed why i think this happens - Since you signed up for this forum almost 1.5 years ago every single post has been about Betcoin and why you love them or why someone is wrong to criticize them.

I really enjoy playing at Betcoin.  I have never felt cheated playing here, but there has been some growing pains with the software that IMHO they HAVE been working on diligently.  I have played on many of the WPN skins for right around a decade now.  The software glitches that have been pointed out here are not exclusive to Betcoin....Betcoin is just the newest skin (and more involved due to the duel nature of its player pool) that has to confront the complexity of the software.  I have total faith in the brand!  Betcoin is fair....and not as greedy as many other poker sites.  There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism but FUD doesn't help!

So, what are you saying?  Brand promotion is a bad idea?  Do you believe that they're cheating you because they rewarded you for promoting their brand?  Betcoin is a good brand and I hope it continues to grow.  A larger player base benefits us all.  Try playing at Lock, Carbon, UltimateBet, Absolute...etc.  I've been around for awhile and I truly believe that Betcoin has good intentions....never had a problem withdrawing (no max, no mins)...deposits have never been easier (no max, no mins)....no docs, utility bills, proof of address....etc.  It is the most favorable site for US players in the world at the moment.  It just needs a larger player pool and it would be a dream!

Again, my big issue has nothing to do with the technical issues - they happen on every site.  It's the way betcoin handles them.

Have you noticed they are completely ignoring every issue I've mentioned in this thread? 

Do you think it's fair for a site to keep funds which have been confiscated from players who colluded or somehow cheated other players?

Do you think Betcoin seizes funds from cheaters?

What do you think they do with them?



When other sites seize funds, they redistribute them to the players who were cheated - regardless of whether or not the victims were aware of or complained about the cheating. 

Here's an example of an email PokerStars sends explaining:

If anyone has ever had seized funds redistributed to them on Betcoin without putting a significant amount of effort into convincing support, speak up!  Or perhaps Betcoin could clarify for us, since they are obviously reading this thread!

This is just one of MANY ways Betcoin behaves unacceptably on a regular basis.

An even bigger issue is that they refuse to even acknowledge my questions other than Betcoin Andrews trolling.

I know I haven't posted everything I said I would yet, but I will.  Playing full sunday schedule atm, will make time tonight or tomorrow.

It's very clear what I'm saying.  Betcoin support has a long history of making mistakes.  That's literally what I said.  Read the last sentence (there are only two) of what you quoted.  I never said that a large player base doesn't benefit everyone, I never said anything about defunct fiat sites, I never said anything about withdraw issues (although I have had one or two, the delay wasn't the problem it was the support's reaction to me that was the problem), I never said anything about it being anonymous.  You are ignoring the issues being brought up and bringing up things irrelevant to the conversation in order to bump your penny sig campaign or try to get a lil bonus.  That's shitty.  If you have something constructive to add, even if it's in Betcoin's defense, that's a positive contribution!  But saying "I LIKE BETCOIN BECAUSE I CAN PLAY UNDERAGED! THEY ARE NICE!" is worthless and only makes you look like a shill, which probably isn't how you are intending to come across.
