What a clean looking board. I'm sure it will sell well. Nice to have active cooling for faster mining.

It would be great if the latest boards can run the 200 MHz bitstream without additional cooling needed.

Unlike some of your other competitors.  I won't say their name.   Grin
Nor are they 4 months behind....
I wonder why people produce a 4 month backlog instead of just buying a competitor's board (e.g. the X6500)...
Is it because the X6500 is just listed as "out of stock" at cablesaurus, and people don't know that there's a new batch coming in?

Why? Because people took vendor B's statement of a delivery time frame of 4 to 6 weeks at face value.
That's why.
People are gullible.
I'm guilty of that myself, even though for me the wait has 'only' been 9 weeks, so far.

I expect vendor B to take about one week to process two weeks worth of orders, so, according to that estimate, vendor B should catch up to my first order by early April, for a total time between order and delivery of 3 months.

They are currently out of stock, yes.
A new batch of 100 boards has been built and is currently being factory tested, and will ship to Cablesaurus soon.

No, I think they're just preparing for listing the rev 3. Hopefully, this will be very soon!

Have you decided on what cooling solution to offer with the rev boards?

Fizzisist can you set up a donation pool for the algorithmic bitstream for the X6500?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49971

I'd love to see the X6500 get up around the BFL at a quarter of the power...

I'd love to see that too! I think I'll wait until some more details are available though about how eldentyrell is planning to handle publishing it. If it will be fully open source and helpful to everyone using a Spartan 6, I think all the FPGA miner vendors should chip in. I don't think it should be up to customers to pay for it, but I wouldn't try to stop you guys from donating!

We're rolling out a complete overhaul of fpgamining.com today. Check it out!

I'm especially proud of the Gallery with user photos! Anyone else have pics they want to show off there? Smiley

I don't see a ROI in 17 months as profitable, now 7 months I can deal with & no warranty makes it a moot point for me Smiley

I want to buy a few of these, but does it make sense to buy these if i get free electricity anyway and could buy used cards instead? power is not such a factor.

Depends on how much power you can realistically draw for "free". With GPUs you can pay them off much quicker and typically get a higher MHs/$ ratio BUT the increasing difficulty might hit you sooner than it would a FPGA miner for example. Then again you have free power so I don't think you'd care. There would be a point where it might not make sense to keep the ovens (gpus) running for say a meager BTC per day reward and there will also be a point where you can't expand much more given the power limitations that are imposed on you (depending on your location).

If I was you I'd buy cheap ass GPUS as many of them as I could and use a portion of the profits to slowly invest in FPGAs. Investing in FPGA is a long term investment in the future of bitcoin because it will take you at least 9 to 10 months to pay them off (just with the earnings they make)

Maybe heat is.

I found out the hard way that it is incredibly difficult to dispose of the heat generated by, say, eight mining rigs in a small room (window wide open to the point of being an invitation for thieves) or just three mining rigs in a small room where the window doesn't open.
