I believe that its too early for them to say those things because first of all, bitcoin is still dominant cyrptocurrency since they have working platform. Another reason is that since it is an ICO promotion, how sure they are that there platform would be better than bitcoin, may be they have a good idea but is it realistic or will it work in the real world.

May be it's because some people are not convince with the ICOs rewards because some are offering very small of rewards to participants and some are not following what they are promise in the bounty rewards.

I do not think it will reduce or maybe make bitoin unattractive in the market. Because the opposite happened. Bitcoin prices will continue to rise. Although it has also decreased.
