i have been crying here several times how p2pool was not consistently paying me. i would get on the payout list and all of the sudden i would be off it, even though i kept mining throughout.
i decided to create my own node and see what happens. i have mined all night last night, and not once did i get off the payout list. i have consistently been getting payouts, FOR EVERY BLOCK!
if you are getting shit results from p2p, just create your own node! i run mine on virtual box instance of linux. it was a bit strange setting it up but once i got it up and running, it has been smooth sailing with P2P!
one thing i noticed is that my miner shows a SHIT TON of HW and zero WU. i thought it was a problem, but the payouts are coming in so maybe it something with my node config. if anyone could shed some light on this, i would be grateful. i am the only miner on my node, if that helps.
Does anyone have a solo mining profitability calc for VTC? if you are on a node, you are not really solo mining. you are part of the p2p network. Then pretend that I didn't quote that post. Anyone know how to calculate solo mining probabilities?

i think it is a good sign that vtc is stable or even raising ab bit while btc and ltc are crashing. I like that!
Sorry, but this make no sense. If we are meassuring the altcoins price against the BTC, when the BTC goes down against the dollar, so the altcoins. No reason to VTC to lose value in BTC because of the BTC crash.

of course, rough estimates: 1000 kh/s at current diff 152; 50% probability of finding a block: 182 hrs at 10,000 kh/s 18,2 hrs and so on (i mean real-vertcoin-kh/s, not standard scrypt)

Interesting, volume on Cryptsy has decreased to 558 BTC (from 1000+ yesterday).
Things finally quieting down there?
I hope people are leaving fucking manipulating insider trading CRAPTSY for other exchanges. I already did. Only waiting for my withdrawal to go through. Been waiting for 10 hours.

moved to bter
Same here. Mined a few VTC's about 12 hrs ago and not even in deposit status on Cryptsy. Moved some VTC's from mining to BTer and within 5 minutes they are available on the balance. Now we need a larger tradingvolume on their site to keep the buy / sell orders going. Hopefully the chineze folks pick it up too.

No reason to VTC to lose value in BTC because of the BTC crash. sure we loose money (on the paper) if btc is going down because you have to trade vtc for btc if you want to cash out but if ltc and btc are going down and vtc is stable it is good sign in my opinion ...

GENTLEMEN we have optimized our stratum with custom features to get some great results with VTC... this is with only 30Mh/s of power. The payouts are HUGE!!! Come join up and get some great payouts! https://i.imgur.com/wCLOL4a.pnghttp://dedicatedpool.com/images/logo.pngVTC.DEDICATEDPOOL.COMBenefits of Mining on DEDICATEDPOOL.COM- Backups every 30 minutes of the databases and wallets to protect your mining endeavours.
- Full 24/7 support available at admin@dedicatedpool.com
- Mine uninterrupted - dedicated servers w/redundancy, DDoS protection.
- Trustworthy admins who care about your experience and mining.
** warning this is an advanced coin. You need a custom version of CGMINER to mine it (instructions on our home page of http://vtc.dedicatedpool.com). You can also join ##Dedicatedpool to get some configuration help. It's big payouts if you can mine it, but i'll take a bit of work! I would love to switch to your pool, but last time time I used it for mining VTC it didn't give me accepted shares. What's up with that? Were you using getwork instead of stratum? Do not use the 127.0.0.1 proxy for cpuminer. Use the stratum address - it supports it! Just had a recent person with the same issue and that was his problem. Modern stratum installations do not have getwork any more.. developer ripped it out because it's legacy. example you'd use : -o stratum+tcp://east1.us.stratum.dedicatedpool.com:3354 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password hope this helps! If it doesn't come in to our IRC ##dedicatedpool and there over 100 people in there to offer you assistance! We have an amazing friendly community! Thanks, http://dedicatedpool.comRyan, dedicatedpool.com support/admin admin@dedicatedpool.com / IRC on freenode ##dedicatedpool http://dedicatedpool.com/images/l.png

Are there somewhere instruction how to create my own vertcoin p2pool nood?
it was a pain in the ass but thats because i am a complete noob as well, but i know how to use linux so that helped. you need to get the source code for vertcoin wallet, compile it so you have vertcoind application. then you download the p2pool software - https://github.com/donSchoe/p2pool-vtcfollow the instructions on what to do for vertcoin there. you basically will run vertcoind once, it will create the folder structure for itself. shut down vertcoind. run the p2p stuff how the directions say, it will tell you to add some lines to vertcoin.conf. put those lines in there with addition of: server=1 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 daemon=1 some addnode lines, you can find them in OP save the conf file, run vertcoind, and in another terminal run the p2p. you should be able to connect to the servers ip with port 9171 good luck
