I'm sorry, but you DO NOT NEED 8GB of RAM for a Windows install. I've ran Windows 7 SP1 64bit (nothing removed or slipstream) and now I'm running Windows 8.1.. Again nothing removed or slip streamed. I'm using 4 cards ( 1x 280X, 3 R9 270's) and I have maxed out my cards the best of my ability and what my cards will handle (due to poor ASIC quality, and I'm assuming voltage leakage due to GPU load.

There is no solid 100% that you need 8GB of ram, It's all He said She said. I'm telling you, If you are having issues with mining Scrypt-N, please do post in here. I've been messing with this algorithm for 3 months now, It is picky, but it isn't rocket science to calculate and figure out.

Each card, each system is different. You may get lucky and a copy+paste configuration may work for you, or you may crash your drivers, or 1 card is acting a bit off.. Why is that? When it comes to this, during production Elpida, Samsung, and Hynix don't 'cherry pick' memory chips (Which Scrypt-N is very memory intensive as many of you know) so the quality isn't 100% there.

Cherry picking memory is very popular for RAM, benchmarking, specially when D9 chips were the hit with Crucial Tracers 2x1GB sticks for synthetic benchmarking.

Anyways back on topic, what I do for every mining rig, I tell people

- Disable Aero (or set to Max Performance)
- Disable all unnecessary services that don't need to be running on your rig (If you don't know what to disable, check out http://www.blackviper.com/ You can learn a thing or two.

Voltage tolerance, voltage leakage are common issues. Just because you set your cards to 1.112V like I do for my 280X doesn't mean its gonna load at that voltage, thats idle voltage, my 280X loads at iirc 1.048V or somewhere around that area, I forget.

Clean Voltage is the most important part, what I mean is a QUALITY Power Supply. Just because a power Supply from Joe Dirt is 800 W doesn't mean its the same quality as a 800 W from Bruce Willis. (Ya I got bored)

It's the simple things you gotta take into account if your having issues getting the hash rate that you think you should be getting. Ya my 280X can get 350KH/s like others, but due to the cards ASIC quality, and voltage tolerance, I can only get 332-333KH/s. I'm perfectly fine with that.

This post was not intended to bash anyone's experience with mining, I'm just putting information out there that members may not know, and wanna help out fellow Vertans. I've noticed lots of new miners know Nothing of computer rigs, important parts and the internals of everything, they put it together and hope for the best. Gotta do research lads, and you'll be much better off.

I stopped to tune GPUs, stopped to play with TC, I, clocking, etc... You can get even 5-10% more hashes but this shit is not stable, you can loose more time trying to figure out why the hell your rig crashed or GPU get sick. If you are hopping to other algos or your rigs are remote, it's better to run it as is. My scrypt-n settings aint special. Nice compromise, you'll almost never get hang or other headache.

Good news today:
vert.bitcrush.info - VTC Mining Pool

admin have done his work. This is nice to see!

Mails fixed, posted May 22, 2014 at 11:37

The mail server had problems sending and receiving emails. It has been fixed and additional monitoring is now in place to prevent future downtimes of the mail server.

It also works (least for me) and now I can change my accounts settings and (automatic) cash out works.
And more, also there is now Monocle merged mining added.

I feel that people who mining .... or steal electricity or steal coins  Grin

Who sells at this price
I like VTC, it's saved my GPU's from becoming paperweights.
That said, I don't "hold" VTC, as im still trying to eek-out my ROI for my rigs.
Thus, I mine and then I sell at market.
Not trying to be mean, once I reach ROI I would probably hold the coin, but for now I need to pay back my account to keep my wife happy.
She's expecting regular payments comming back in from the equipment.

but ... ... wait... you mean you have free electricity or THAT cheap? Since I see no other reason how you could get roi with this price against electricity mining cost...
So if you doing this way you are lucky man living in place where you afraid not of electricity costs....

for me its like 0.23$ per kwh + I pay monthly costs of landing room + lpg in around 400 usd .... :/ So honestly if I would cash out from every coin I mined since a longer while till now then it would be like losing loads of usd daily because of mining... in this way if I had choice mine and sell vs turn off rigs ... yes the second choice would have more sense :/

So shit... I put all under vert... we will see if will be screwed by luck or will somehow get soon or later costs Sad

Anyway sad... very sad looking how so many ... many ... last days just selling "loads" of verts Sad pretty honestly could say "loaaads" of them Sad
Dont know if this is kind of losing trust... or just eager to cash out while btc has little bigger value... or maybe really temprary out to invest in other coin...

Generally I know one thing... Until more then 1 bigger investor... more like at least few will get into vert... we wont see rising price... And if we see ONLY losing the price then even those who not much care of price will simply stop believing... thats how the world work... and even if we wish other way we wont change it Sad

I as myself currently lost ideas how to do anything good to make all better here... its not dependant on me as I noticed last days ... whenever I asked something important (I believe was) I was crushed...

Anyway... I am sure all of you know well - if price fall hard... even more will dump bigger amounts... ANY ideas from anyone to at least stop the trend? Or we all just deciding to watch this movie ?Sad

Hey, you did have a cheap power price. I pay 0,36US$ here in Europe.
I was wondering over weeks how they can sell VTC soo cheap.
There must be enough people having free power.

Stay calm with VTC. There are very good reasons to stay on VTC. Asics are comming and more user have to learn time for mining scrypt
with GPU is over and they have to search another home. X11 coins have an even worster profitabilty than VTC.

DRK made the same for me. I switched day by day from mining VTC to DRK and back to VTC. At this time i would better have bought them than mine them. I did powered down my rig for weeks now.

I have no idea to what levels DRK is able to climb, maybe it has already peaked maybe we are far away what is possible, but to make profit by buying and hold VTC seems to be a very good place momentary

Exactly what that guy said. People, like smileman, that talk the most usually have a lot less to say.
Keep it up, thats the best dev team I have seen so far

I would say that 8GB is safe amount of RAM. When I was running my Gigabyte r9 270 machines (2x per machine - Win 8.1) I needed 8GB of RAM in order to be able run them at the TC that I wanted. I literally tested this with my PCs. When I tried running my config at the time with 4GB it would either crash or I would get terrible hash rates. Using 8GB of RAM fixed that issue and everything ran perfectly. Mix in Teamviewer and other applications, it's nice knowing that I have more than enough memory. So at this point I would say RAM requirements are really based on the configurations of your rigs (OS/TC/Apps/etc).

TLDR: If you want a more plug n play approach get 8 GB. If you don't mind taking the time to really streamline your OS/miner with optimizations then you can swing 4GB.

Is there any chance to get to the Bloomberg TV / it is television which translates in many countries, including my country, This is television that watching from many financial investors /
It would be great if we could make a big marketing company next month with the new update

I do not understand people who believe in the coin and their first English language - people work writing distribute articles, news and all the positive things about this VTC community

unfortunately my language is not English  Undecided

I can't mine with 3 R9 290s on Windows with 2 GB. On BAMT it runs flawlessly; no errors.
