What did you guys thinking about coin value? Last 2-3 days it's slowly falls down. You are all voting Cryptsy to add DGB but did you now what happens with 80% of coins value when coin hits Cryptsy? Big dumps and quickly devalue. Take care with this. Are DGB really needs Cryptsy right now? May be some kind of work required to value rising right now before Cryptsy adds it?
Too many easily mined coins, to low difficulty.
That's the price you pay for being high on Coinwarz.

We figured that both of these things will happen eventually. The sooner we can get on Cryptsy and get through that cycle the better. Once we have gone through all initial coin steps like CoinWarz & Cryptsy we can start a larger marketing campaign and bring about a slow & steady rise. We have some big things ahead this week.

The more people we can get mining the better. In our opinion being at or near the top of CoinWarz is a good thing. The more ways people can find out about DigiByte the better.

We have already started a $100 Facebook add trial. We have received about a 1.5% CTR with 80 clicks and $60 spent.

I do not want to be the partypooper but if a coin is never dumped ... it will never rise.  You need more people holding the coins except miners to create value in trading.  Dumping is not a bad thing , it may look that way at first since the price goes down. But buyers that do not mine, are the traders that will push the value up in the long run.... took me a while to realise this.

We need it to hit Crypsty.

I'm desperately waiting.  Grin

A large difficulty increase would be fantastic.  The more people we can get mining the better, then the value will rise to compensate.

That's the price you pay for being high on Coinwarz.

The explanation for big falls on cryptsy is due to 2 reasons:
1. It's often the first exchange a coin is listed on, so no one is sure of the market value. hence it starts high & then falls; or
2. The coin is too profitable to mine & gets hit by multipools. This causes the mining profitability to plummet, driving away the loyal user base, and also multipool users often use Cryptsy's "autosell" function, which drives the price way down beyond what even a loyal user base can counteract.

This weekend Digibyte has seen the network hash up approx 50% and a commensurate rise in difficulty. To be honest this is what we want as it means more people are engaging & also lowering the mining profitability, which lowers the attractiveness to multipools. In addition, the price is well established via Coinmarket & Coinedup, which are now largely in parity with each other. (for whatever reason this seems to have dropped in the past hour or so)

The price rises & falls in waves, but that is to be expected with relatively low volume. IMHO things are looking good for the medium to long term, but if you are focused on short term movement you're probably better off in something else. no offense.

Because the only DGB P2Pool server was charging 10% fee (p2pool.neocities.org), I've setup a new P2Pool node for DigiByte:
http://p2p.mine.bz:9024
Feel free to join.

To enable the DGB P2Pool network to grow, here's my P2Pool configuration:
networks.py
    digibyte=math.Object(
        PARENT=networks.nets['digibyte'],
        SHARE_PERIOD=15, # seconds
        CHAIN_LENGTH=24*60*60//10, # shares

        TARGET_LOOKBEHIND=200, # shares
        SPREAD=30, # blocks
        IDENTIFIER='400690cf35352b24'.decode('hex'),

What happened to http://dgb.smalltimeminer.com/ - they locked registrations and had 800+ miners for the past few weeks. Now around 50, registrations are open again, heard lots of good things about this pool and have been wanting to get on it since i started mining DGB.

Currently mining on http://digi.coinium.org/ but 120 confirms is silly, needs to be lowered to 20 like most pools.

i recomend you guys dont change your hash to any onther coin, mine DGB and get its difficulty to 50+ im all in! seams like the difficulty improves the coin value
i saw diff 18 and the price went almost 200 satoshis now we're dropping slow in difficulty and the price went down also diff 12 and price is 135 satoshis ! a little up the difficulty but following the same padron! if we could hit 40-50+ in difficulty we could hit 300-400 satoshis but we need to keep it up in difficulty ... oh jeez save us!

Not sure why they dropped users, but they used to have a lot of very big farms which are no longer there. The new user block only came down a few hours ago btw, so it seems this just crept up on them. I've been using them without any problem for about 2 weeks & payouts are just 8 confirms.

Just wanted to let everyone know our development goals to achieve by the end of next week:

1) Get listed on Cryptsy
2) Finish all newbie guides so DigiByte can become a bridge for new users into the crypto world.
3) Finish promo video & DigiMan
4) Start Facebook advertising

Keep messaging Cryptsy here: https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/72581

Thanks for the update.

I have looked through the posts and I see lots of people complaining about value of the coin. We all have to realize the only WAY the value of the coin will increase if more people are holding it. This means the coin must be used for something other than speculation. Look at DogeCoin why is it rising? Many people are holding it. Everyone talks about. It has a "network effect".

Kimoto would just make the difficulty more variable, but what Martins is talking about is average network hash. A faster retarget would make it more difficult to judge the real average difficulty in my opinion as difficulty would be all over the place from block to block.
