can someone help me with my mining setup?

i recently switched from an nvidia card to an amd card. deinstalled all the graphics drivers (through device manager in win8), then installed the amd catalyst driver.

now when i run cgminer, i get a hash rate of like 5kh/s with my r9 270x and it doesnt even seem to be doing sth at all...
here is a screenshot:

im running the standard config: ultracoinminer -o stratum+tcp://utc.greekpool.eu:3337 -u user -p password --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600

changing thread concurrency and other stuff either results in hashrate = 0 or in an error (the 270x config in this thread gives me an error).

whats up with that. is it possible that this happens because i switched graphics drivers? if so, how do i get this fixed?

Try raising your Intensity to 13 (-I 13). Check for HW errors. Also, FYI. I have better returns at ultra.leetpools.com for pooling too. greekpool was giving about half expected the first day..not sure if its smoothed out now or not.

YMMV.

You also need the AMD APP SDK
http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/#one
here

and make sure you delete any .bin files in the miner folder before you start

We have the same card. Try this Smiley

ultracoinminer -o pooladdress -u username -p password --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 --thread-concurrency 15508 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 -I 19 --no-submit-stale -g 1  --expiry 1 --queue 0

I get 350-355khs with that setting on my cards

Edit: oops didnt read it thoroughly

Did you totally remove all the nvidia drivers? maybe theres still something left that stops the amd card
try google ther's a lot of instruction to complete remove it

PS4 Funds for my brother. Help me get it. Thanks! Smiley

Proof of Stake explanation

20% interest per year if you

1. have utc in wallet
2. don't spend it during that year
3. have wallet online all year
4. have wallet unlocked for minting, do this like so:
    - Open debug window, then console, then type: 'walletpassphrase' yourpassword '999999999' TRUE

Detailed PoS explanation

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

A couple things -  I get a JSON error if I use all capitals for "TRUE".  I have to write it as "true".
Secondly, this seems to unlock my wallet completely.  The help command seems to suggest it's just for minting, but unlike the PPcoin client, it just says my wallet is unlocked and not "unlocked for minting only".
I'll try to send myself some coins and see if I'm doing something wrong here.  If I'm missing something, feel free to comment.

edit:  yea, I can freely send coins to myself without putting in my passphrase.  Am I missing something here?

So does the wallet have to be encrypted?

Mine is not atm and when I entered "walletpassphrase yourpassword 999999999 true" I get "Error: running with an unencrypted wallet, but walletpassphrase was called. (code -15)"

Does this still invoke pos?

Thanks

use "walletpassphrase yourpassword 999999999 true"

yes, I did.  But as said, this is a full wallet unlock it seems for 999999999 (minutes, seconds?).  It seems like it is more than just for POS minting.

You need to have your wallet encrypted first before you can use the "walletpassphase" command.  You've never encrypted in the first place apparently.

Exchange hacked.

Will it make price of UTC go down?

The launch was already pretty dodgy with no pools online and solo missing the config file.

That exchange had low volume. So I say no it will not affect the price. I think UTC price can only go UP from here.

Do you think it could ever hit 10$?

Just like proof of work needs to do work all year, proof of stake needs to prove stake all year.  This is just how it works.

I still don't get this. How can anyone guarantee that a wallet will be online for a full year? Power outages, hardware failures - seems like no one would ever "qualify" to earn the 20%.

Well maybe. But I think 2 $ is easy in short term...
