Site is back, sorry! We had to replace a faulty hard disk.

New site updates are coming along this week.

By the way: Bitmit contributes to BitcoinFriday on Nov 9th (http://bitcoinfriday.com/). We won't charge any sales fee for orders that are made on this day Smiley

DDOS? Why would someone do that to Bitmit? They don't like the competition?

Update:
Fixed a bug because of that sell notifications were not sent

The attack was not directly against Bitmit but against our network center. Don't worry Smiley

Thanks for your feedback, I will think about that.

2) Allow option to turn on/off email notification of certain events (new order).

That's already possible in Settings -> Notifications.

How can I filter for items that are actually bet on?

There are hundreds (thousands?) of products but most are boring or totally overpriced. "Bestsellers" is a start to find actually interesting stuff but at least until bitmit has some more traffic I guess it would help to both give an incentive to provide interesting prices and give a way to find products that will actually come to a deal (assuming that items that somebody bet on will cost commission regardless if the merchant bid on his own item or if it was some really interested person).

Sorry for the update delay.

I recoded the whole notification engine.
The new one is more reliable, does not mix up languages, emails are sent in HTML and plaintext version, amounts are shown with the correct decimal separator of users country and when you are not logged in order links will redirect you to right page after login.

@giszmo, you are right there is a need for it. I think it is a good idea to include the filter your know from the search (https://www.bitmit.net/en/q/?q=dollar) on the regular categories. I also have something like a "feed of your favorite sellers" in my mind that can be shown on a dashboard after login. What do you think?

… hmm … didn't think much about this yet but maybe you would not want the language to be encoded in your url. I will not buy this gourmet pizza oven if it doesn't come in my language.

Second thought: Ever thought about having products multi-lingual, too? People that import their stuff from a database might be able to provide it at little effort. Not sure if any market does that or any customer actually would use it for more than 2 languages but having the description in native language of those that have lowest shipping costs (neighbors) might totally make sense. You could even partner with duolingo.com (or any other translation service out there) and sell your users translations to different languages.

+1, especially to pick end auction time (edit: or at least day-wise more selection)

Feature request: You should add "Trademark infringement" as a category when reporting an item. There's quite a few counterfeit items popping up. Keep an eye on user "uk1" for that matter, he's listed a ton of counterfeit jewellery. The "LV" logo on his counterfeit Louis Vuitton bracelets is a registered trademark.

Thanks for your useful feedback guys, I read it all and there are good ideas.

@GBTC, thanks for the hint. Have deleted a bunch of that counterfeited items.

Update:
Nicer item listing on user page and About the seller tab. (Take this example: https://www.bitmit.net/en/user/GBTC#items )
