I've been watching the tracking for my order. Why the heck would it go from Utah to IL... I'm in Texas.

Christmas confusion. The post office always does screwy things around this time. lol

The tracking notification at least confirmed I addressed your shipment to Texas, right?

(regardless, it's extremely unlikely that I'd misaddress a shipment - it's far more likely that I'd misaddress the e-mail confirmation step, because the shipping software makes a manual ordeal out of that part and I've sent confirmations to the wrong e-mail before)

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

I've read a few posts about "blank" coins, or roll-your-own coins. I'm interested in some sort of coin that's related to BTC, and the pictures I've seen in the first post were pretty cool, but I'm not interested in anything fancy with the hologram stuff. I just want a plain coin, without any attachment to a private key or anything other than the metal coin itself. Is this what a blank coin is? I don't particularly care if it has any BTC value, I'm in it for the novelty of a collectors coin.

Yes, you can buy the blank coins for .05 BTC each (minimum 50). https://www.casascius.com

Mailed from Sandy, Utah. Then went to Salt Lake City, Utah. Then to Chicago, Illinois. Then Elk Grove Village, Illinois... Where it's sat since Wednesday.

Every week we get other peoples mail and they make us drive to town to pick up small packages that fit in the mailbox. We've even got written threats from USPS employees in our mail box about us frequently ordering packages and free stuff online!

I really hope FedEx buys the USPS someday.  Roll Eyes

Same here, just waiting on them to be funded!

I just did a funding batch just now for everything I have marked received, so if they are not yet funded please e-mail me...I may have missed the e-mail.  All I need is the order number or the prefix of any coin in the order.

As for Mikes suggestion, I am reselling 1 BTC coins (series 2) on BitMit:

https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/11897-1-casascius-physical-bitcoin-series-2-1-btc-loaded-value

(if link doesn't work, just search for "casascius" or look in the Money/Bitcoin category, I will put up more).

I'm using combined auction / buy now mode. Buy now price is BTC 1.55, auction starts at BTC 1.25.

Shipping (via tracked letter) is €2.80 worldwide and €2.15 to germany. For crazy germans, I offer untracked letter for €1.20. Risk is on buyer, though.

I will probably put more with a lower buy-now price or shorter auction time.

The coins are even more beautiful than series 1 Wink

I hope it's ok to advertise this here?

Mike, is it possible to buy a batch of coins, then resell them and have them funded only after the customer receives them? This could be done in batches of course. Maybe weekly or in batches of 10 coins to reduce your workload.

This would simplify shipping and reduce risk.

This is undesirable, as then untampered but unfunded coins could be in circulation, making the whole coinage untrustable. This is a previously posited perfunctory purloining procedure.
