Just to point out the obvious....For a long time folks here were not responding to our trolls and there was actual discussion going on...
Now you all are responding and arguing with them; five pages worth since yesterday. By definition you can't win these arguments. You are essentially doing exactly what they want you to. I'm sure some of you have good intentions but I hope you can see it's not helping.
I believe the expression is do not feed the trolls... all you are doing is encouraging more.
You cannot have a discussion with someone who's sole motive it to disrupt and disagree. (And may even be paid to.)
Perhaps everyone can get it out of their system. I for one think this was a much better place when we just ignore them.
(And the argument you must defend against their attacks for new readers is complete BS and a waste of time)
I agree. Responding to the trolls is only encouraging them. Just freaking ignore them...it's not that freaking hard. There's even a little button for it (under their name). But the trolls keep the DASH thread near the top, so there's that. |

Is the plan with evolution to roll out one big update in the next two months? Or will there be anything that's slowly revealed up to that point? Besides what we have on the BTC Wednesday videos?

Fair enough, so to get back on topic: Any news on the iOS wallet and/or Electrum yet? AFAIK both have been overdue for a while now
iOS wallet is submitted for release and still in review by Apple Appstore team. |

I disagree italeffect and for too long there's been this "high moral ground" stance taken by people who say that having the trolls on ignore is the only way to deal with them. Whilst it's true that responding to trolls' attempt to incite argument is generally useless, there are times when engaging with them is appropriate. You see, they're secretly wanting to be a part of this. They're secretly sad and dissatisfied with their lot in life, but they just don't know how to express it and attack and venom are all they're good at (probably going back to childhood experiences/neurons set on the wrong pathway/continuous reinforcement of their "badness", etc. etc). They're ultimately not bad people just sad unhappy individuals who need a hug. So, whilst I understand the psychology of what you're talking about, there's a place for engagement too.  |

AFAIK both have been overdue for a while now everything overdue everything needs time unfortunately iTunes: replied, we are back in review (they are writing their own rules, so we better be patience) electrum: some technical holdups, takes longer as planned (but in the works)  |

Considering that there will be no substantial information on Evolution until the end of January, I think it's only logical that potential investors take a wait and see approach. |

Don't you want to know WTF the strange opaque arrangement of Evan Duffield + DARKCOIN FOUNDATION + instamine $$$ + Dash project is all about? Or are you for some odd reason studiously incurious about such matters? I don't think the foundation has any call to respond as its public record and not up to them to do anyone's research for them
The foundation reportedly made noises about transparency and publishing minutes of meetings. Did that ever happen? I've tried to find out, but the only available info is contradictory (bigrcanada says DARKCOIN FOUNDATION != Dash) and clear as mud. Without a foundation, there is no entity to protect the interests of the coin. So far, they have obtained trademarks for Darkcoin, DarkSend, DASH, etc... I beileve they've written the licensing agreement for Darkcoin/DASH, which, although open, as some requirements when used (credits, I believe they made a modified version of one of the existing licenses) FYI, it was all done so far with voluntarily time, and donated funds (mostly Evan and others on board)
The foundation is a legal entity that can deal with anything that requires a "person" which would benefit the coin. They haven't spent any donated funds yet, they post their meeting minutes, and when they decide to spend any of those funds, it will be done transparently.
The foundation has tried to set up the rules of governance to be transparent as possible
So the DARKCOIN FOUNDATION has the same address as Evan Duffield and owns the trademarks/controls licensing for Dash? But they haven't spent any money yet? |

Thats a good question. I can't actually remember myself. Maybe I just looked at this post here and decided that it was at least an 18-month project (based on where Darksend was in January 2014 till summer 2015). I did think I saw an 18 month to 2 year figure mentioned somewhere, but even if I didn't, to anyone with the slightest bit of experience in software development this is an 18 month project to get in the ball park I would imagine. |

Considering that there will be no substantial information on Evolution until the end of January, I think it's only logical that potential investors take a wait and see approach. As much as one would expect the logic of the price reflecting the quality of the project, it's clear that at this juncture in the development of crypto currencies the quality of a project, it's team, future potential and uniqueness of the product's features/functions represents but a tiny overall force or influence on the price. There seems to be many other factors that are far more prominent. At the moment pretty much all alts are suffering from an unusual disconnect-from-BTC phenomenon. Whereas on other occasions you would see LTC, NMC, PPC, Dash, either remain at a constant BTC value or actually increase their BTC price slightly as the rally occurs, at the moment they've all pretty much disconnected. And while for most of them the USD value hasn't dropped too badly, it's been quite unique to see the BTC value just sliding consistently across the board as BTC rallies. Dash will rally again too but exactly when it happens and what triggers it is hard to say. The whole scene is ridiculously uncertain. Evan could go to Miami on the 22nd of January, deliver a fantastic presentation that's warmly welcomed and reported on then Dash could drop severely afterwards. It's that unpredictable. Then three weeks later it could go ballistic and start a run up to an ATH. Trying to make sense of it and offering suggestions of what the price is going to do is virtually impossible. When it does take off though I think we're going to see a rise at a speed like never before. It will happen 'like a thief in the night'. Just have to be patient I guess (as frustrating as it is to see the price knocked around by so many other factors). |

It is also important to say that the foundation is playing a different role these days, as we switched to the voting/budget system for governance and funding and away from a foundation/donation model like other projects. The foundation just represents us for some things where a legal entity is required, as you can't operate as a community for many things in the real world. So I would say the foundation role at this point is more on the legal representation side and not at all on project management |

He hasn't said or given an approximation on how long it will take to roll out Evolution. I expect awhile, since he said it was a total overhaul of the Dash code, but no numbers have been thrown out. The January 22 "demo" sounds like it will be a fairly preliminary version. |

You can look at it two ways..."I missed the boat when I didn't invest within a month of release" or "I really dodged a bullet when I didn't buy in May/June/July of 2014, and waited until now to go all-in." Maybe it's a good thing you missed the boat? In this case, it's better to have been WAY LATE to the party than a little late. |
