Because he left this community long time ago and never replied to any emails. And he keeps working on other stuff on his gitgub account.
If he still had any coins he probably would feel like working a bit more on it, commiting, helping like he did in the past.

 As far as I can remember, he worked his ass off for Darkcoin on a daily basis then BOOM, zero. Into thin air. Out of the blue, he stopped communicating, logging in and github stalled, and everyone did try to reach out to him in many forms and manners.

His sudden absence from this forum is/was out of character for the person he presented himself as. I remember many of his posts were very warm and he was very engaged. So you're making a set of assumptions about him. For all we know that's not him logging in to the github account.

Yes, if I'd sold all my coins I'd still be very interested in Dash as I've been involved for a long time and would still be interested in the project and the people. My recollections of Chaeplin are that he'd likely be the same.

chaeplin, El Presidente, was (is) from South Korea, so I don't think his sudden disappearance is such a humorous subject.
 
He was highly motivated and contributed a ton and a half to development. I doubt he disappeared into thin air by his own will, and I really suspect that May login.

 He was a top contributer to Darkcoin, possibly the biggest one to date, in proportion to devs and code written at the time. Despite his sometimes hard to follow english, his tutorials were what made me learn linux, grasp the Masternode concept, and not be scared to give it a shot.

 Before Elberethzone's dashninja.pl, his website was the only way, and true blessing, to monitor the network. His work was nothing short of amazing.

 He was also a wonderful person on a 1-to-1 basis.

 I owe this man quite a lot, and I really hope all is well with him.

For the record, South Korea is an extremely developed country with a high quality of life index and a human rights record that is close to or above many western countries.  Good internet too.
