I don't agree with anything stated in that Xposting from DCT.
The word "dash" is simply not serious enough. It is too whimsical, "flighty" flitty" however you want to describe it. More suited to the DODGE coin community. First thing that comes to mind is Santa Clause's reindeer when hearing the word, second thing that comes to mind is a Russian word. Dashcoin invoked a picture of Santa Clause flying over roof tops with his reinders. Or sinister old world Russia.
That's just me obviously. A technically solid one of a kind coin needs more bite to its name than "dash". That's akin to naming a 6x6 truck the "daffodil truck" or the "daisy truck". As for the idea bout squares and triangles, apples and ipods and all these cute and flighty type names, it is next to impossible to give something a goofy name and expect it to take off because of that. You can certainly try but if it fails there will be no second round. You might as well go for broke and go all the way with a "zingo" or "bongo" "zoomer" type goofiness that many try with very websites and company names on the internet, that go absolutely no where.
Put some real money to good use and retain an established marketing company to conduct a study and to actually run brand clinics to see how the general populous perceive different names, not rely on crypto nerds on internet forums for the answer.

lol not quite.
I was going to use Digital Asset Recovery Koin but then you're left with the dangling coin at the end. So think of something clever(er) to make out of the K in Darkcoin.
Formally known as Dark I like koin with a k, its more cool

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release. Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5% Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1) = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

We're rapidly approaching a time when the average person will have absolutely no comprehension on the difference between there, their and they're, its and it's, to, two and too, which and witch, accept and except, affect and effect, a lot and allot, bear and bare, illicit and elicit, let and let's, (and hundreds of others) nor care two hoots about any of it either. Pretty sad.
Since the subject finally came up, I just wanted to take the opportunity to quickly (and as inoffensively as possible) get this off my chest: You don't "loose" money. You "lose" money and "loose" an arrow (as in, "let loose"). Just reminding those around here with otherwise perfect English that this sticks out like a sore thumb because the rest of your text is so awesome. That's all I'm going to say about this, though. Given DASH's bright future, I'm sure nobody in this community will ever have to worry about this particular word again anyway. You got me Bridgewater! This is one that I confess to having a problem with. I'd like to think that it serves both to help keep me humble, (a difficult task) and keep others from taking me too (not to or two) seriously; (a much less difficult one).

I still like the name darkcoin more, i think it is the perfect name, and i do not like dash. Should focus more on the tech as oposed to PR as well IMHO.
I can understand that, however, Darkcoin is no longer just focussed on "being dark"; there's so much more to it and adoption with the name "Darkcoin" will be but a drop in the ocean compared to the whole ocean if it's given a new, far more acceptable and valid name. I just do not think we necessarelly have to do what is considered "valid" and "acceptable". Since if Satoshi Nakamoto himself though that way, Bitcoin itself would most likely not have been invented in the first place. There is nothing ethically wrong with the name Darkcoin and it is the name that definitely does embody and best symbolizes the cryptocurrency movement, and its spirit, certainly much better then DASH or DC does IMHO, both in the literal and poetic sense. So if the only reason for doing this change is so that Darkcoin can be considered a more "valid" and "acceptable" currency then i would not consider that a good reason for the change. I have been actively engaged in fomenting revolution for longer than most folks have been alive. In that time I have made far more than my fair share of mistakes. There have been times I have compromised and allowed enemies to gain ground, and there have been times I spoke too directly and friends have suffered. I have learned that camouflage is an essential external accoutrement of warfare, and that dressing like the enemy can allow you to fight him longer. As one revolutionary said, "I become all things to all men, that I might win some." Ultimately this battle is not about making money--it is about changing the hearts of men (and women), but in order to do that you must first gain their ear.

More of the same
So Adam White what has gotten into you and jerked your chain so badly you feel this incessant desire to attack and slander everyone here? We've all explained to you what happened at the launch of Darkcoin and how much of a non-issue it is. I wasn't here for that and originally bought in close to the ATH when the big pump happened so I'm not a beneficiary of the large number of coins that were floating around at ridiculously low prices at the time (and I'm still underwater from then) but I'm not concerned about it. I've seen nothing but a very hard working lead developer and people who add enormous value here again and again. And the Darkcoin development team just keeps delivering again and again with new innovations and fresh ideas on how to solve the many shortcomings crypto's had up until this point. People here enjoy this immensely, but no one's making huge money out of it (yet). Where is this scam you're going on and on about? Where is the rip-off? Who are the beneficiaries? You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's experienced anything like what you're describing. It's the very opposite; a close knit community of people that are enjoying each other's online company and looking forward to achieving something pretty special. Why do you feel such a deep need to come and put shit all over that and pedal your nasty slander? If you stop and think for a moment (whilst looking at yourself in a mirror) you'd find it very difficult to come to terms with this. It's not what you're ultimately about. I've just had a look through some of your postings in other non-Darkcoin related threads. They're typically passive-aggressive with a mix of demand and incredulity expressed again and again: You are phenomenally and stunningly full of shit. In addition, your posting history makes it obvious that you suffer from severe psychological issues. Seek help
Any specific reason why the devs won't acknowledge a single thing I post in this thread???
I have 2 questions. Why was this question deleted: "How come your cpu miner was ridiculously slow for so long?" Why are you so fucking shady.
How many legitimate questions are you going to delete/not answer
This coin is pure garbage. Nothing but a pump before the news that the anon doesn't work. This post will be deleted in 3...2....
4 days later and the windows/linux download links in the OP are still reversed. Is the Node team brain damaged or just lazy?
Mate, you've said to someone on one of these posts "get help" but I think you're talking to yourself. We're a happy bunch here. It's not all smooth sailing; we have some challenges, but on the whole we're happy. You could even come and join us and be part of this very special development that's clearly going to make an enormous impact. But you need to work out what's gotten you so angry and so pissed off and then work out how you're going to let it go and calm down. It can't be good for your health and mental well being! I hope you can find your way to something better than how you're behaving.

I like this most.
I still think this one is the greatest: (White on dark background - great contrast - and level of slant perfect. I thought the above ones had too much slant). EDIT: ok, now that I see them both together they're both good.

For those interested and wanted different versions of the slogan and stuff. Here's a couple more to ponder. this one is just angled more and here's the D alone for use on sites that want a small icon Very nice, its a strong looking logo. Edit, how about instant private payments? Not too keen on digital or cash personally.

I present the Adam White Story. It will air on Lifetime June 4th on National Troll Day. The story will have it all. A young Adam White, despondent at the loss of his birthday money on a faulty NODE investment jumps around from coin to coin with whatever spare change he can scrounge up. After losing his shirt to Ducknote, his pants to clam, and the last shred of any remaining dignity to Monero -he takes on a new mantle. He will be the ULTIMATE troll against the one coin he passed on his way up since it wasn't 'fluffy' enough for his liking. He will take his revenge against Drk.
