I thought no other Budget proposals will come on until this first 3 are live and active
(+ we had time to settle this and work out the details)
 Huh

The code will allow it. Anybody can submit a budget at any time.

There are 1588 unallotted DASH on the line.  This budget is attempting to claim what will be burned coins.

But it was set as recurrent with no coordination with Evan at all, it feels rushed and I think something  like this would need more discussion.  Coins are not burned, those coins just wont be minted. Testnet is not open at this time we should think about this more, it does not seem like there is consensus on the community on this.  Well at least it looks like the system works:

Check this out, it looks like governance is a hot topic, it seems like Dash is ahead of the curve:

That's not entirely true, Moli had email discussions with Evan and he agreed on the general concept.

It feels rushed because there's a imminent deadline before the coins are gone and Moli didn't create a comprehensive plan in the time available.

Your distinction between burned and not-minted is facetious. The result is the same, less total coin in circulation.

Version 12.1 is going to be on testnet soon. I don't know if that's a week or two out, but having additional resources earmarked can't hurt.

I just respectfully disagree, the positive thing is the system should work for cases like this.

Edit
these 2 guys from the show are such dou....bags (excuse my french)
2 weeks before that gavin show i emailed them both direct about the Dash Governing and proposed a show/interview
with evan.
They blew me off, polite, as they pretty much had no idea about us.
and then this comes out ... come on eh ....
do your homework before using big words and going live with it !

With 12.1 incoming, the testnet network can be strengthened provided there is added incentive.

For example, a number of the masternodes were from the same IPs, costs extra to host new nodes, can be improved, will help to spot more errors and simulate flood tests better (scaling up must have this)

The testnet mining was only around 2-3 megahash (by me and only 1 other person usually), some improvement is needed to provide network stability, not difficult, but electricity bills have to be paid, don't they ?

More testers with code experience are required, small payments to be given out at the end of each version release or per month perhaps, its amazing what results a few Dash will produce to provide inspiration.

Could even provide bonus Dash small prizes for people spotting major bugs, great incentive to draw new people in, and will help main net release no end...

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Looks like we might be headed for a revaluation. Someone's been dumping 4-figure trades for days on Cryptsy and eroding all the support.

Possible re-settling at 0.008.

I'm not complaining at all. But I do not agree with the testnet budget proposal.

 Here is why.

I'm not a coder,  I'm not a dev. But I've been a ferocious tester for a year and a half. I know Masternoding inside out and sideways, and the first time I picked up linux was to participate in the very first Masternode release. I've spent considerable funds on VPS's and unmeasurable man-hours to this project. Testnet and elsewhere. Before "big gun" testers appeared.

I may not know code, but I submitted many bugs to JIRA, #darkcoin-dev, here and on the forums.

I helped dozens of people understand the concept. People with high IT skills learn how to operate them. Some who now run profitable businesses around Masternodes.

I did it all in the name of the values of a future decentralised incorruptible world, and the open-source philosophy.

I wouldn't mind ONE bit being back-compensated for my back efforts. Hell, I had to sell my nodes due to medical reasons and at substantial financial loss due to price drop, never complained one bit, chin up and kept testing v.12!  And I'm pissed as hell that I may not be able to jump back in once price goes bananas again in the future, as scarcity increases.

I am all in for rewarding the efforts of those who altruistically contributed to the success of this project.

But to create a budget proposal for the future testnetters?

That will only incentivise people to join to get some free coins. Like a fat faucet. The value and dedication of tester will drop. The quality of the interchange will drop like a bomb. How would we able to evaluate and be fair to pay the same to some testers due to their coding/IT ability, and less to others who are there, are end users, and use testnet only to understand and grasp the concept and test without using real coins?

The latter are also VERY useful as they introduce noise to the system. Bad configs, outdated clients, and general perception of the unbinary-educated folk. In my eyes, equally valuable as sometimes more, as these do bring out unexpected events and bugs.

I didn't check the proposal myself, but my stance is clear. A future paying testnet budget will seriously downgrade the quality of it.

Very good points Ghost. Sorry to hear of your forced liquidation - I sure hope you still have a horse in the race to some degree (and that you are of improving health).

Thanks tok. Nothing major, more of a long term prophylactic intervention than an emergency fix.

As I understood it it's a one off thank you nod to for all the work so far not a continuous part of the budget.

 Not currently.

Obviously it can be cancelled at any time by Masternode Ops, but in any case, that is my only qualm about this one. I am 100% behind a retroactive retribution, don't get me wrong. And against myself I speak as I am in the list of future recipients. It's the concept that I don't agree with.

I'd rather see an Official Testnet Team that is compensated, than this.

Moli's proposal sort of says the above, but not quite. These sort of initiatives must be thought out with great care so no ambiguity "pollutes the environment"

So, I just saw that the latest release on https://www.dashpay.io/downloads/ is back to v51 again. Was v52 released prematurely or was there some problems with the updated daemon and wallet?

Should we who have upgraded to v52 roll back to the older client again?
